Support Tony's Family After Tragic Loss

Donation protected
"Who will walk me down the aisle?"

That was the first question Tony’s 14-year-old daughter asked moments after witnessing her father take his own life.

What began as a final family trip together turned into a moment that shattered their world forever. Tony, a U.S. Air Force veteran, truck driver, father, son, husband, cousin, died by suicide in the most heartbreaking way imaginable. He waited until his wife and daughters stepped inside a Buc-ee’s gas station in Texas, then ended his life with his mother sitting in the back seat, and his daughter opening the door just as the gun went off.

She saw everything, and the trauma, the devastation, and the questions will last a lifetime.

Tony was a father of two girls, ages 14 and 9. He had been on the road driving trucks for work, away from his family for long stretches. He was in counseling, trying to manage the PTSD that followed him home from military service. But no one, not his wife, not his kids, not his mother, saw this coming. They had just spent time together and things felt fine. They were about to say goodbye as he returned to the road and they to Alabama. Then, everything changed.

Mental illness, especially among veterans, remains a silent crisis in this country. The burdens carried by those who served often go unseen, unspoken, and untreated. Tony was doing what so many do, holding it all together, smiling through the pain, trying to be strong for everyone else. But inside, something broke.

This family now faces not just grief, but trauma. They will have to manage loss, shock, mourning, and questions no one should ever have to answer for their children. They need help. And we’re asking, humbly, for yours.

Your donation will go directly toward:
  • Funeral and memorial expenses
  • Trauma counseling for Tony’s daughters and wife
  • Immediate living costs as they recover and regroup
  • Long-term support for the girls’ education and emotional healing

The youngest asked, “Why didn’t he talk to anyone? That’s what he always told us to do.” Those words echo in all of us.

We cannot undo what happened, but we can show this family they are not alone. We can help create space for their healing and support their survival and in recognition of every family quietly holding someone who’s suffering. This is not just about one tragedy. It’s also about the larger systems that fail our veterans, the lack of accessible mental health support, and the silence too many are forced to keep. Help us bring light to this crisis. Help us give these girls a future where they feel held, supported, and safe.

Please donate if you can. If you can’t, please share this campaign and keep this family in your prayers. Every bit of love, every message of care, every dollar all matters.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring.
And if you are struggling, please, talk to someone. Let this not be the end of a story, but the beginning of healing for all of us.
