Help Johnny Fight Cancer

For the past few years, Johnny has been dealing with some kidney issues. This was initially attributed to kidney stones but after recently being in so much pain he landed in the ER where they found what they thought was cancer in his right kidney.  He was scheduled to go in for a CT scan to then schedule a biopsy to determine if it was for sure cancer or not. Before he left the CT appointment they deemed they didn’t want to waste the time doing a biopsy as they knew for sure it was cancer. Johnny is scheduled to have a Nephrectomy to remove 30% of his right kidney on February 19. The doctors would like the surgery done sooner but due to financial reasons, Johnny is unable to.

For those of you that do not know Johnny, he is one of the most loving, hardworking and genuine men you will ever meet. He loves his wife (Sayward Shoffstall) and his 8 children more than you can even imagine. Yes, I said 8 children. Johnny and his wife are high school sweethearts and yet still more in love than a newlywed couple. They have five of their own children (who are amazing kids by the way) and have recently started the adoption process for two sweet girls (ages 3 and 5) and they are also fostering to adopt a baby boy who they have had since he was 3 days old. No matter the obstacles this family faces they have so much love for one another but as you can imagine having a family of ten can get costly.

On top of what Johnny is going through with his health, on June 3rd Johnny’s son, Zach, was working on his truck when the truck got away from him and pinned him between two vehicles. He broke his pelvis in three spots and severed his urethra which has resulted in three surgeries. This in itself has already put the family under a financial strain.

Johnny will have to be out of work for recovery for a minimum of three months. Three months of no pay will be completely devasting to this family. Johnny being the hardworking man he is, has always provided for his family. He is having an extremely difficult time processing what not working will look like for his family. With that being said, I wanted to start this go fund me because this family deserves it more than anyone. The donations that they receive will go toward medical bills, their mortgage, car payments, groceries, daycare, etc. If you can’t afford to donate then at least keep this family in your prayers as they will need all the love and support they can get during this tough time.
