Update: This morning 11/27, the Copeland family got the news that their beloved fur baby winston had passed. This day is especially hard for them because they did lose their baby son this day 10 years ago. Through all this hurt, and massive amount of grief they are also met with a large emergency vet bill. The Copeland family is walking through one of the hardest moments of their lives right now, and my heart breaks for them. I am creating this GoFundMe because they desperately need a cushion of support as they face an unexpected, overwhelming vet bill while fighting to save their sweet Winston’s life.

Winston isn’t “just a dog.” He is their child in every sense of the word. He is their comfort, their joy, their daily light, and the little heartbeat in their home. Anyone who has ever had a fur baby they consider family understands exactly how deep that bond runs, and how painful it is when that child is suddenly fighting for their life.

Winston is experiencing severe liver and kidney failure. It came out of absolutely nowhere, no warning, no signs, nothing to prepare them for this nightmare. One moment he was his happy, spoiled, goofy little self… and the next, they were rushing him to the hospital, terrified and praying for a miracle.

On top of the emotional devastation, they are now facing an extremely costly vet bill, one far beyond what anyone could have prepared for. And what makes this even more heartbreaking is the timing. This time of year is already heavy for them; it marks 10 years since they lost their son. To face another life-or-death trauma during a season already filled with grief is almost unbearable.

This family is hurting. They are scared, exhausted, and emotionally shattered. They love Winston with everything they have, and they would give the world to save him. He is their baby. Their spoiled, adored, precious baby. The thought of losing him is breaking them to pieces.
