Support Chris's Battle Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Chris and I have been diagnosed with cancer. My father passed away from cancer when he was only 50 years old. I am now 58 years old. I have always had a fear that I may someday suffer this disease, and this was confirmed by my doctors over the years based on family history. Well, it happened. My wife Shawna and I sat across from a doctor a few months ago and indeed, he said to us what I had always feared. He said that I have cancer.

Since the initial diagnosis, I have been driving to a number of medical appointments. To make all of these appointments, I have had to call off from my job. When this happens, it is a day without pay. I just need a little help to get through this challenging time. I have a surgery coming before Thanksgiving, and then I will have an unknown amount of follow-up procedures and doctor visits. I currently have two cars that my wife and I both use. Unfortunately, both cars are in need of repair.

We have a 2004 GMC Envoy that has a broken frame. My wife drives this car to work, but it isn't safe for her. Our other car is a 2013 Rav 4. This one has transmission problems and needs it replaced. I have the mechanic ready to change this out, but the cost is $2,500. It also needs new brakes installed.

I never thought I would ever need to reach out like this for help. We can never know what life will bring. All we can do is trust that God will bring you through the hard times, and that the kindness of others is alive and well in the world.
