This Go Fund Me account is set up to help my son in law and daughter Jeremy and Jennifer Wiseman with mounting Dr/hospital bills and missed work due to Jeremy's illness. As a lot of you are aware, Jeremy was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer(a gastrointestinal stromus) in July of 2014. Jeremy and Jennifer had just celebrated their 3 year wedding anniversary and had just purchased a new home. There was no history of colon cancer in Jeremy's family. He was diagnosed at 35 years old. Our families were devastated at this news. No surgeon wanted to operate because the tumor was so large, he was put on an oral chemo pill by his oncologist to try and help shrink the tumor to a point to where a surgeon could safely remove it. He was put on the highest dosage of chemo he could withstand, which in turn compromised his immune system making him unable to work. He had to be off for eleven months. Although he was able to receive short term disability, it was no where near what he was making while he was working. They have two children to care for and Jennifer also works full time. Dr and hospital bills and the expenses of everyday living just keep adding up, while they are just trying to make ends meet. In April 2015, Jeremy's tumor had shrank by 70% and they found a surgeon who was willing to operate. He went through a grueling 8 hour robotic surgery, where a tumor the size of a softball was removed. Followed by an 8 day stay at university of Louisville hospital, followed by a 6 week recovery period. He then had to have an ileostomy bag for 3 months then yet another surgery to reverse that. In June of 2015 he was finally released to go back to work. Still dealing with the after effects of surgery but so happy and relieved to return to work!! In September 2015, he had to get his 6 month post op ct scan, then in the first week of October he got the ct results and is still cancer free!! Thank the good Lord!!
We were hoping that was the end of it, but of course they found another problem. His left kidney is now enlarged and there is scar tissue built up in the ureter tube. So now he must have a stint put in, so yet another surgery. On November 3 Jeremy was taken in for another surgery to put the stint in. As doctors atempted to do surgery, they found that the scar tissue was too thick and could not get the stint put in. So then he was sent back to surgery at U of L hospital for another surgery....a nephrostomy. So now he has a drain tube in his back connected to his kidney to help it drain and another overnight stay at U of L. Any donation is greatly appreciated to help out this family who has been through so much in the last fifteen months... Things that should never happen to a 35 year old man.
This has been a very trying time and has taken a great toll on these kids, especially Jeremy, he has been through so much, so many operations and at least one more that we know of. They just want to get their life back on a normal track again. Jeremy is not a complainer, we have never heard one complaint from him throughout this entire, terrible ordeal. He is a very hard worker who goes to work each and every day and takes great pride in his work. He is a wonderful husband and father. Not being able to work has really taken its toll on him and his family. We are just trying to relieve some of the financial burden and stress that has been put on their family. While they are sure in their faith that this is all for a reason and that God only gives you what he knows you can handle, we know that Jeremy must be very special and he is a real trooper in this terrible situation. We are all incredibly greatful that Jeremy is cancer free, this is just another obstacle in the road to Jeremy getting his health back and them getting their life back to normal. We sincerly appreciate any donation no matter how small. If you are unable to donate we completely understand, just please share and please keep this wonderful family in your thoughts and prayers.

Cancer is a terrible, terrible disease. It does not discriminate amongst age, religion, or skin color. No one should have to suffer with this terrible disease.
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers!!!
