Makayla Brandyberry (KK) is a 17 year old senior at Riverside who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the right humerus in 2020 at 14 years old. She had limb salvage surgery and her first round of chemotherapy completed by 2021. In October of that same year and she relapsed, and they found metastasis to both lungs, she had a thoracotomy in 2022 and then in 2023 she relapsed again when they found metastasis to her spine which required a spinal surgery. In June. she began her chemo and radiation but they also found more metastasis to the ribs, right hip, and lungs. She is currently at Dayton Children’s Hospital and ICU due to low blood pressure with no plans of discharge at this time.

I created this page because if you are like me and believe that while prayers are definitely the most powerful thing that we can do for this family but also I understand the financial struggles that most certainly come along with illness.
