Calling ALL Nadadores and Friends!!
Coach Casey's Story:
In May of 2015, doctors found a tumor the size of an orange on her right ovary. Assuming it was benign, she had it removed in July. Unfortunately, after biopsying the mass the results were returned as being malignant. Coach Casey has been diagnosed with Stage 1 Granulosa Cell Tumor, adult type . . . or Ovarian Cancer. Fortunately, this type of cancer typically has a GREAT prognosis.
Coach Casey returns to have surgery on Sept. 22nd and will have her right ovary/fallopian tube removed and will have her surrounding tissues biopsyed. For the next 2-5 years she will have to go in to the doctors every 3 months and as long as everything looks good, there will be no chemo or radiation.
We are asking ALL friends and family, Nadadores past and present and UCSD Alumni to pray for the Adams family as they navigate through this journey with Coach Casey. We're asking, if you are so inclined, to donate anything you can and help offset the cost of these 2 surgeries for Coach Casey, who still remains in her Master's degree program for a teaching credential in Special Education.
We also pray and provide encouragement for the doctors who are treating her and let them know that Coach Casey is a fighter and that she will beat this with the surrounding army around her!!
