Angela Clark's Medical Fund

My mother would never share this so I will:

The photo above to the left is from May of this year when my beautiful mother, Angela, received the diagnosis of Stage III breast cancer and began her journey. She was starting her second round of chemo and being brave for me and my little sister who is pictured with her. The picture to the right was taken July 3rd not even two months later. My mother still has her bright brave smile but she has been affected by her treatment. She is walking with a cane intermittently and her vision has been impacted by the chemo and steroids. Anyone that has dealt with a cancer diagnosis is aware of how devastating this can be on a family, relationships, and finances. My mother is doing this on a single income and without child support. A lot of people offer to help with the best of intentions but don't really know how to get involved. Everyday I watch her get up and struggle to work at the hospital where she helps children and their families struggling with cancer diagnosis and other diseases. She puts on her scrub cap and her smile and they are not aware of what's going with her health. A lot of people are just now realizing there is a problem because of the cane.  I mention this because she doesn't complain-- she does what has to be done in order to support us. Her chemotherapy will be complete by the end of July (yay!) and her first of several surgeries will be in September. During that recovery period she will go without a paycheck as well as mounting co-pays. ALL prayers and ANY contribution are appreciated...it all adds up! I am confident my mother will survive. She is a fighter.  However, even the strong need help sometimes. Hopefully she can focus all of her energy on survival and recovery and not so much on finances. Other people have questioned why my mother continues to go to work and question her positive outlook regarding cancer diagnosis...her response everytime "It's about Lauren and  Madison... if there is any treatment that can increase my chances of survival I will do it for them".  Please help me help my amazingly brave mother focus on survival.

Thank you,

Lauren Holmes
