The Vieques Humane Society has been doing great work this year. Over 50 dogs have been transported to the United States for adoption! Now with the heat of summer our transport efforts are slowed. VHS either has to wait until the fall to transport dogs or fly the animals on United/Continental Airlines. Our dogs are ready for their forever homes and VHS will continue to transport through the heat using United/Contintental Airlines and their climate controlled cargo areas will keep our dogs safe and cool for the duration of their flights.
This means funds are very tight. The Vieques Humane Society needs your help to purchase a new set of kennels and to cover the costs of heart worm treatment for an old and abused dog. Our kennels are rusting and falling apart making them unsafe for animals. The Kennel Team is doing their best to manage the loss of a kennel set but relief is needed. With your help we can continue to succeed!
Here are the details: Transport costs are rising to $300.00 per dog and we are challenged to come up with the $4,000.00 to purchase a new kennel setup and $500.00 to cover the cost of treatment for Matu- an old, abused dog who was left for dead when his owners moved away and left him tied to a fence. Please help the Vieques Humane Society continue to do great work for the Island animals. Every dollar helps. Thank you!
