For more than 15 years, Ms. Berta Zamora has quietly and faithfully served the St. Anne of Sunset Church community as a devoted religious education teacher. Generations of children have sat in her classroom, learning not only lessons of faith, but lessons of kindness, patience, and compassion - virtues she embodies every day.
Before dedicating herself fully to teaching, Ms. Berta spent her professional life as a nurse at UCSF. Over the years, she cared for hundreds of patients and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. She gave comfort, dignity, and healing to others without hesitation.
Today, she is the one in need of care.
Ms. Berta has long battled arthritis, but she has recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer called Sézary Syndrome (SS). Her condition now requires extensive, around-the-clock medical care. What was once a life spent serving others has become an uphill medical journey filled with uncertainty and mounting expenses.
Her loving daughter, Alma, is doing everything she can to support her mother through this difficult time. The emotional and financial strain, however, is overwhelming.
Now it is our turn to give back to someone who has given so much.
We humbly ask for your support in funding Ms. Berta’s medical and caregiving needs. Any contribution, large or small, will make a meaningful difference in ensuring she receives the care, comfort, and dignity she so greatly deserves.
Please consider supporting Ms. Berta Zamora and keeping her and her family in your prayers during this challenging time.
Together, we can surround her with the same compassion she has shown so many others.
