First off: Thank you. This is alternatively embarrassing to admit and terrible to go through, but not as awful as the alternative, so here goes:

THE PROBLEM:
My family and I are about to be evicted.  Monday the 21st they're serving me a 3 Days to Vacate notice, and by Thursday the 24th the lawyer gets involved, and we'll go to court. Even if I manage to fight and buy some time, it definitely sets things on a negative track that ends up with us having to move, possibly with an eviction on my record, and that's just all bad.

I have 2 small children that I'd rather not have to uproot, and I have lived in my place for 15 years, so there's no chance we'll be able to find an affordable place around here, either.

HOW THIS HAPPENED:
I was laid off early last year and have been job hunting ever since to no success. I've managed to get several freelance / consulting type gigs, along with some success with writing and acting, but all of these things are VERY inconsistent. So I have long been in a cycle of getting behind, and then paying a lump sum to get caught up. This time I've fallen too far behind with no help in sight, so I'm forced to turn to you for help.

As I said in the video, I participated in a television project that should have paid off months ago that would have solved this problem 10 times over; I was offered a job weeks ago that I've yet to get a start date for. I've done literally everything I could think of, and it's either not worked out, or been vastly delayed.

WHAT I NEED:
My rent is $1,940 per month; last month I paid half and owe all of this month, so my short term emergency need is roughly $3,000.
The reason why I set the funding goal for $6,000 is if I am fortunate enough to reach this goal I will use it to pay next month's rent as well (after GoFundMe fees and rent late fees) and buy myself a bit of breathing room to find a longer term solution.

IN CONCLUSION:
Again, thank you. I realize it's hard times for everyone right now, and if you were able to donate anything I appreciate it, along with any prayers and good vibes you can send our way. I don't intend to be defeated by this, and have every intention of sharing with you a grand story of victory somewhere down the road when all of this makes sense in retrospect.

In all honesty, my Ego REALLY doesn't want me to do this, since the world is full of haters who would like nothing better than to share a good laugh at my expense, but really I don't care. I'm out of time, and out of options, and so I reach out to my community for help.
