Please help my mom fight cancer !!
My mom is a single mother and a Chicago Police Officer for over 28 years and has always been a person on the go and the first one to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. My mom was starting to become very tired, bruising for no reason, and becoming very short of breath. In 2015, she went to the doctor for what was supposed to be a routine checkup/blood test. The doctor called her two days later sobbing on the phone saying "i'm so sorry i'm so so sorry. Get to Oncology immediately". My mom was able to make an appointment with an Oncologist a couple days later, that doctor told my mom she has what's called CLL and not to worry. CLL is Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Over the past couple of years, my mom had to go for blood tests every month to monitor this cancer. The Oncologist told my mom not to worry because typically CLL is a very slow growing cancer and most people never need treatment. Things started turning bad in October 2017 which was only 2 years after her diagnosis. During this time, my mom also ended up breaking her wrist and needing surgery.
In January 2018, my mom had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment for the Leukemia. She has had 8 treatments and is not in remission.
My mom and I would be extremely thankful for any assistance we would get for paying medical bills. My mom has done the very best for me always putting me first and never herself. My mom has always done the best she could for me even if she needed something, she would put herself on hold so I could come first.
