Aziz's Funeral and Support for her Family
Donation protected
This past week, the beautiful, brilliant, and infuriating Aziz lost her battle with addiction.
Aziz Ouedraogo was the smartest person in any room and didn’t care who knew it. She spoke truth to power, despite facing more obstacles than many of us could imagine. She showed kindness and respect to those who deserved it and gave that classic Aziz sneer (you know the one) to those who didn’t. She exuded confidence, maturity, and sophistication and had a hilarious and joyful side. Aziz also had the world’s best smile.
That smile.
We are devastated by this loss and cannot believe she is gone.
She brought laughter, accountability, and wit to so many lives, and so we are asking the community to step in and show support for her sister and her mother, who she loved fiercely. Shannel (Aziz's mother) and Khadijah (her sister) were in the process of relocating when Aziz died and now will need time to regroup and heal. Funds raised will cover funeral and travel expenses and provide support and stability for Shannel and Khadijah through this painful time.
Details about the funeral, held in Portland, OR, will be posted as they are available. Instead of flowers, please consider donating to the Trevor Project in Aziz’s memory. Please support trans youth and the families who love them every day.
