Hi everyone, I’m Aziza—a Black Trans woman, drag performer, and artist. In May 2025, I’ll be undergoing Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS) with Dr. Wayne Ozaki at UCLA. This procedure is vital to my safety, health, and sense of self, and I couldn’t be more excited to take this big step!
Why FFS Is So Important
For years, dysphoria has made it challenging—even frightening—to step outside without makeup or simply look in the mirror. Each time I remove my drag makeup, I’m hit with a wave of dread. This surgery is about so much more than appearance: it’s about living authentically, regaining confidence, and navigating the world free from fear.
Drag has been my bread and butter since 2017. Not only does it pay the bills, but it’s also my primary source of joy and creativity. Taking a three-month hiatus from performing (and working) will be emotionally and financially tough, so I’m reaching out to my community for help.
What Your Support Covers
I’m aiming to raise $15,000 to cover:
• 3 Months of Living Expenses (rent + phone + bills): $6,510
• Food & Meal Delivery during recovery: $2,400
• Travel Costs (Uber/Lyft) to and from post-op appointments: TBD
• Post-Operative Care (bandages, painkillers, pillows, etc.): TBD
Even the smallest donation will help me stay housed, nourished, and safe while I heal. If you’re unable to donate, sharing my campaign link is another amazing way to support.
Why Trans Healthcare Matters
As a Black Trans woman, accessing gender-affirming care is literally life-changing. Starting HRT turned my life around, and FFS is the next big step in that journey. This surgery will help ensure my face reflects who I truly am—and that I feel safer in everyday situations.
We can’t talk about justice without including trans lives. Your contribution, no matter the amount, helps make that justice a reality.
Staying in Touch
I’m active on Instagram (@qveenzibi) and Facebook (@Aziza Bijoü) and will post video diaries and updates as I move toward and through my recovery. I want you all to see the transformation—and feel the gratitude I have for your support.
Thank You
Thank you for standing with me, believing in me, and helping me move forward in my journey. Any support you can offer, whether donating or sharing, brings me one step closer to waking up every day at peace with my reflection.
With gratitude,
Aziza
