From the Ashes - Neil Bennett Family

My family and I were out having dinner at my brothers house, we happened to notice a fire burning off in the distance.  We couldn’t pin point the exact location of the fire to notify the authorities. So we drove towards the fire so we could call 911. 

As I approached my street I realised that fire trucks and police were already on the scene as I could see their flashing lights. 

As I rounded a bend in the road in front of me; to my horror I realised that those flashing lights were coming from my drive way. 

As much as you think it might never happen to you, tragedy struck last night on August 15th and mine was the home that was on fire. 

My wife and I have two sons 16 and 14 as well as our seventeen month old daughter. Last night our whole lives burnt to the ground right in front of me. By the time I reached our home it was too late for me to save anything, including our 10 year old family Jack Russell Anna.  I stood by helplessly watching as our home burnt to the ground. 

We are thankful that we are all safe and we are all trying to remain positive during this time as we try to pick up the pieces and re-build our lives. 

As we have lost everything in the fire we humbly request that you assist us with whatever you feel you can.
