Azazel's vet bills

Hi, some of you may know me as Skitzaph0nic or as Josh, some of you may know my partner Soph personally or through The Sanctum. We live together and co parent our little cat Azazel.

We are currently trying to raise funds to help us afford the vet bills and associated costs with a medical condition Azazel has.

What Is The Condition and How Does It Effect Both Us and The Cat?
Azazel current has cystitis, which basically means her bladder is inflamed resulting in her feeling she needs to pee constantly. It’s really painful as it makes her strain to go to the toilet even when her bladder is empty, which means she sometimes pees bit of blood. It’s an incredibly stressful condition because it makes her need to pee all over the house, on our clothes, soft furnishings even our bed. She isn’t being naughty, she’s never peed outside the tray or in the house before, so you just have to let her, which obviously is both stressful for us but also labour intensive as we have to be constantly cleaning everything.

Cats are very sensitive to smells, so I have to constantly be cleaning the litter trays, placing puppy training pads around the house and replacing them when she wees on them, when it’s really flaring up, it can last for hours her just walking from one spot to the next, peeing or leaving little bits of blood all over the house.

Because we live in a studio flat (all one room), there’s no way to keep her away from our bed or clothes etc. The only option I have is to just keep cleaning everything.

The Cause Of Her Cystitis
The condition is often caused by stress and am pretty sure the reason is, a lot of new cats have moved in to our building, this has created huge territory disputes between the cats often resulting in fights or a lot of screaming. Azazel was an outdoor cat, but she’s very small and i think she’s been coming of worse in some of these disputes. We've kept her in doors but she can still see all of this out the window.

The Vets Treatment and Results
We took her the vets and she was prescribed meloxicam which is an anti-inflammatory, I have also bought some tablets which mimic the hormone in mothers’ milk to help relax and destress her as well as some tablets which help stop the crystals forming in the bladder.

Both us and the vet was hoping she'd make a recovery after 5 days. But she hasn’t, which now means more trips to the vets etc.

Our Financial Situation
This couldn’t have come at a worse time for us, with me being unemployed (I am looking for jobs), making most my money from the small amounts I make sporadically from music and Soph having to move the space she does her self-employed work from, which has cost 100s.

I will always take the cat to the vet no matter what to ease her suffering in any way I can, but its left us 100s of pounds away from making rent.

What Any Funds Raised Will Be Used For
The funds we raise her will help us cover things like:
• Vet trips at approx. £100 per visit
• Taxi to and from the vet approx. £20 per visit
• Over the counter medications, like Felloway, Cystease, Zylkene approx. £40
• New litter trays, lots of new litter puppy pads to put round the house, all extra cleaning products I am having to buy approx. £40

It’s not been an easy decision to make this fundraiser but we are in a really tight situation which still hasn’t stopped, costing us potentially even more money than I've conservatively estimated.

If you can spare us anything, me, Soph and Azazel would be forever greatful x <3
