Ashley's Christmas Challenge.

This time of year should be filled with joy, with laughter, and with love. But for some families, this reality couldn’t be further away.

Since losing my daughter five years ago, I vowed that if I couldn’t hold her at Christmas, I would do my utmost best to ensure another family can still hold their child.

So tomorrow, on Christmas Eve, I will be rucking a 50km ultra marathon with a 20kg weighted vest to raise desperately needed, life-saving funds for 14-year-old Max - who is currently fighting an aggressive brain tumour and needs alternative treatment not supported by the NHS.

Over the last three Christmases, in honour of my beautiful daughter Azaylia, I have represented @theazayliafoundation and sacrificed my festive periods, raising over £75,000 to support children fighting cancer and to help their families access crucial, life-saving treatment.

So when I heard Max’s story, I was compelled to act. No child should have to fight this terrible disease alone. And no family should have to face this traumatic journey without support.

I don’t mind sacrificing. Because I understand that in my sacrifice is my worthiness to stand on this earth. In my sacrifice is the honour my daughter deserves. In my sacrifice is the chance to raise life-changing, life-saving funds for other children fighting. And in my sacrifice, I can hopefully raise two incredible boys who see what it means to be a good human being.

If I see you along the way - whether for a smile, a cheer, or a sweaty hug - you’ll fill my aching heart with love, warmth, and pride.

The Azaylia Treatment Fund

We are launching our new Treatment Fund to support families throughout their Childhood Cancer Treatment Journey.

Unfortunately some families have to find alternative treatment options as they have exhausted their options from the NHS. A lot of the time, these trials and treatments are abroad, making their journey even harder and more stressful. A lot of the children we have supported are those who have rare, complex cancer's and often have relapsed.

The Azaylia Treatment Fund exists for one reason, to help children get the treatment they need, when they need it.

We support families and work closely with their oncology teams to make sure every child is on the right treatment journey, their family is supported, and they are never facing this fight alone.

Please support this fight in any way you can, community movements are how we achieve change for our children, and every single action matters.
