Willy's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Kristen, the niece of Wilfredo Olivar or better known as Willy.
For those who have not met him
Willy is a hard-working man who has worked with MUNI for the past 20+ years. Driving lines down 14th and mission, 22 Filmore st to driving down Fulton and if you know him, he was the perfect man for the job.
The tall big guy with no filter of a mouth.
Yet also a family man with a good sense of humor, a party animal (only at family parties)trying to hang with the young ones with his infamous "wassup mang" greetings. Willy is also one of the best mahjong players, Gary Valenciano, BeeGees impersonator of the mic and a Carlos Santa impersonator on the guitar. Even he talks as if he played with the great Joe Montana or as if he coaches Steph Curry. Such a character uncle is.
He also has the hands of a gardener, maintenance man, mechanic and cook. You can say he is a jack of all trades.
Willy is that guy!!
Due to life's unexpected event, I am organizing this Gofundme on behalf of his wife, Diggie and their children, Joe and Danallie.
On November 3rd, our family was woken up by devastating news.
Willy suffered a stroke while in the Philippines 2 days before his return home to the states.
He is currently on a ventilator to help him breathe and was in a coma for three days due to the trauma.
The doctors explained bc of the severity of the stroke and the location of the blood clot in the brain, surgery was not an option. Instead, pushing medications and continued prayers is what is best.
It has been challenging the past few days; the worry, fear, anxiety, and stress have taken a toll on his family.
The most significant stressor is figuring out how to pay the hospital every three days to keep Willy alive and how they can continue to pay their bills here in the states, so Willy has a place to come home to.
Due to the nature of the situation, we kindly ask for donations with medical expenses and other financial obligations to help ease some of the burdens.
Though he cannot move from the neck down, Willy is showing signs by opening his eyes with tears running down his face when he hears the voice of his family over the phone.
This gives us hope and trust that the power of prayer and God by his side is giving him the strength to take on this journey of what's ahead.
On behalf of the Olivar Family, We greatly appreciate your help!
Thank You!
Maraming Salamat!
GOD BLESS!
