Hi everyone. Hope you all are doing well. Those of you who know me, I wouldn't be doing a GoFundMe if I wasn't in a bad place. It started just after Mother's Day; I was put on suspension at work, which then led to my termination. Termination for poor job performance causing loss of revenue to Agua Caliente Indian tribe. I knew I had not done this, but there's no fighting the Indian tribe; they are always right. Well, I proved that thinking to be very wrong. I filed for unemployment and was granted $379 a week. Not very much when you have a car payment, insurance, phone, storage unit, and rent, all of which is way more than I was receiving.
Then, to make things even worse, 2 days after my 55th birthday, I returned home, after an awesome time, to a note on my door from my roommate giving me a 44-day notice to vacate. Her reasoning was that she wanted to paint and recarpet her home and wanted more room for her Amazon wardrobe (some of which is from last year and still in their packaging). She has 2 large closets, a 6-drawer dresser (4 drawers are empty, not to mention 4 empty drawers under her bed). So now, no job, no real income, and soon to be without a home.
I was steadfast in my search for work, determined to find something. Which, with God's love, I found an awesome job! It is only 23 hours at $18.50, but it's a job! I was hired by West Coast Self Storage as an Assistant Manager for the only RV storage only, in the company. I have only been with them since July 2nd. And in my boss and district manager's exact words, "I have far surpassed their expectations!" I will, within the next couple of weeks, become Manager of their new facility as well as maintain being manager at the RV facility! It comes with a raise in pay, full-time hours, benefits, and more! Great, right?
Not so much. I still need to be out of my roommate's home tomorrow, the 31st. She said she is willing to give me 2 additional weeks if I pay last month's + 2 weeks for August rent. How can I possibly pay her that, look for a new place, pay a deposit, and at least 1 month's rent? Rent here in the desert runs $1000 for a studio and minimum 1 bedroom. I have applied for assistance and I am on several wait-lists, but it takes time, time which I do not have.
So, I have set this GoFundMe to ask for your help with financial assistance to cover a hotel room or even money towards an apartment move-in. At the current moment, I'm unfortunately thinking your help will be towards an inexpensive room for a few days in this 115-degree weather.
So, in closing, your kindness and generosity in any way is and will be forever, more than welcome and appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appreciate each and every one of you.
