Hi, I’m Louise. Last year, during my first trimester of pregnancy, I contracted Fifths Disease which is a common viral infection caused by parvovirus B19. It causes symptoms such as a low-grade fever, headache and runny nose, followed by a rash.
On very rare occasions the virus can pass through the umbilical cord to the fetus. It caused my baby to become severely anemic and in order to save her life she had to undergo three blood transfusions in utero.
I’m raising money to cover the remaining cost of the treatment required to save my baby’s life and any extra raised will be donated to Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women. If it wasn’t for their expertise and care my beautiful daughter would not be with us today!
Thank you for your generosity and kindness!
