On July 10, like many families, ours was deeply affected by the tragic events on Laguna Road in Camarillo.

My cousin, Xavier Martínez, was detained by ICE agents while bravely defending our community by speaking out against the inhumane treatment the Latino community continues to face. We are asking for support to return him and release him home safely. All funds will directly support Xavier's bail, legal expenses, and support for his family. His three children are waiting for his safe return. His mother is devastated. As a father, son, man of faith, and member of our community, he has always prioritized the needs of those around him.

It is heartbreaking to think that anyone could be detained or disappeared simply because of their place of birth or the color of their skin. No one should face punishment for speaking out against the realities of violence against our community.
