To My Dear Friends and Family,

I am reaching out to you today with a humble and open heart, asking for your support during one of the most difficult times of my life. As many of you know, a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 bile duct cancer, also known as ampulla of Vater cancer. After nearly 40 years of hard work and unwavering dedication to my family, I was forced to stop working to undergo chemotherapy and other intense treatments. These treatments have been grueling, leaving me physically drained and unable to return to work.

Despite my best efforts, my financial resources have been completely exhausted. My disability benefits lasted only a year and have since ended, and my SSI has not yet come through. The union I worked for is unable to provide enough financial support, and EDD is no longer able to help. My immediate family has done everything they can, but they too have fallen short of being able to meet the overwhelming costs. I have reached out to various cancer foundations, but unfortunately, I have not been able to receive the assistance I desperately need.

This is why, today, with a heart full of both hope and humility, I ask for your help. My battle against cancer is far from over, and I am determined to keep fighting with God’s grace and the love and generosity of those around me. Your support—whether through prayers, donations, or simply sharing my story—means the world to me and my family.

A mis queridos amigos y familia,

Hoy me dirijo a ustedes con el corazón en la mano, con humildad y esperanza, para pedir su apoyo en uno de los momentos más difíciles de mi vida. Como muchos de ustedes saben, hace un año y medio fui diagnosticado con cáncer de vías biliares en etapa 4, también conocido como cáncer de ampolla de Vater. Después de casi 40 años de trabajo y dedicación a mi familia, me vi obligado a dejar de trabajar para recibir quimioterapia y otros tratamientos intensos. Estos tratamientos han sido extremadamente fuertes y agotadores, dejándome sin la posibilidad de regresar al trabajo.

A pesar de todos mis esfuerzos, mis recursos financieros se han agotado por completo. Mis beneficios por discapacidad solo duraron un año y ya no los recibo, y mi solicitud de SSI aún no ha sido aprobada. El sindicato para el que trabajaba no puede proporcionarme el apoyo económico suficiente, y el EDD ya no puede ayudarme. Mi familia inmediata ha hecho todo lo posible, pero lamentablemente no ha sido suficiente para cubrir todos los gastos que esta situación conlleva. He buscado ayuda en diferentes fundaciones contra el cáncer, pero, hasta ahora, no he tenido éxito.

Por eso, hoy recurro a ustedes, con fe y humildad, para pedirles su apoyo. Mi lucha contra el cáncer aún continúa, y seguiré batallando con la ayuda de Dios y el respaldo de quienes me rodean. Su apoyo, ya sea a través de oraciones, donaciones o compartiendo mi historia, significa el mundo para mí y para mi familia.

Desde el fondo de mi corazón, les agradezco por estar a mi lado en esta batalla. Su generosidad y cariño me dan la fuerza para seguir adelante y me recuerdan que no estoy solo.
