Hola, mi nombre es Wendy Sánchez Rodríguez. Soy una madre de tres hijos y modelo profesional y actualmente estoy luchando contra un cáncer de mama en etapa tres. Estoy dispuesta a seguir luchando contra esta enfermedad y espero que puedan ayudarme en este próximo paso en la batalla, la mastectomía.

 

En noviembre de 2021 participé en un evento durante la semana de la moda dominicana llamado Ciudad Corazón Merengue Fashion Week Gala Benéfica, que destacó la importancia de la concientización sobre el cáncer. No sabía que mientras modelaba en el evento, el cáncer de mama estaba devorando mi cuerpo rápidamente. Una semana después fui diagnosticada. Mientras tenía los resultados en mis manos, las viñetas de un posible futuro en el que mis tres hijos se quedarían sin madre empezaron a rondar mi mente. Fue entonces cuando decidí que lucharía contra esta enfermedad con toda mi fuerza por el bien de mis hijos y mi familia.

 

Espero contar con su apoyo durante este momento difícil. En mi futuro veo una vida en la que estoy libre de los grilletes de esta enfermedad, en la que puedo volver a dar a mis hijos y a mi familia la atención y el cuidado que se merecen. Veo un futuro en el que puedo volver a mi carrera de modelaje y seguir perfeccionando mis habilidades como esteticista. No puedo lograr esto sin su ayuda y espero ver cómo podemos ganar esta batalla juntos.

Hello, my name is Wendy Sanchez Rodriguez. I am a mother of three, a professional model, and currently battling stage three breast cancer. I am willing to continue fighting this disease and hope you can help me in this next step in the battle, the mastectomy.

 

In November 2021, I participated in an event during Dominican fashion week called Ciudad Corazon Merengue Fashion Week Gala Benefit, which highlighted the importance of cancer awareness. Little did I know that while modeling at the event, breast cancer was rapidly devouring my body. A week later, I was diagnosed. As I held the results in my hands, images of a possible future where my three children would be left motherless began to haunt my mind. It was then that I decided to fight this disease with all my strength for the sake of my children and my family.

In my future, I see a life where I am free from the shackles of this disease, where I can once again give my children and family the attention and care they deserve. I see a future where I can return to my modeling career and continue to hone my skills as a beautician.
