En noviembre del año pasado, Óscar recibió un diagnóstico devastador: leucemia. Con valentía y determinación, enfrentó la enfermedad y logró entrar en remisión. Incluso encontró un donante de médula ósea, lo que llenó de esperanza a su familia y amigos. Sin embargo, hace unos meses, la leucemia regresó de manera agresiva, trayendo consigo una lucha aún más difícil.

Durante este año, Óscar no ha podido trabajar debido a los tratamientos y los efectos de la enfermedad. La carga emocional y financiera para su familia ha sido inmensa, pero su espíritu sigue siendo inquebrantable. Today, we write with our hearts full and filled with gratitude to share the story of an incredible man, Óscar Barco. Óscar is a Colombian who has made Charlotte, NC, his home for many years. He is also an exceptional dancer, a loving husband, an exemplary father, and a hardworking, responsible man.
