In June 2018, Olga (better known as Olena) Indriago was diagnosed with Stage 3 phase C stomach cancer. At age 56 , she’s an active lawyer, single mother of two great hard-working human beings: 17 y/o Alberto, who is in his last year of high school in Venezuela, and Olena, who is 26 y/o working and studying in Canada to make a living and help her family back home.

Olga is filled with energy, kind, generous and always willing to help others, yet she would never ask for help for herself. She’s admirable, extremely hard working, and always there to talk when you need to.

After surgeries, chemotherapeutic treatments and radiology, her cancer transformed into abdominal metastasis. The costs for her family, specially her daughter and son, have been more than they could afford as they’re both students. The economic and political situation in Venezuela makes it hard to find the medicines needed, and even more to afford them. 

Olga had an emergency surgery on January 20th, that’s when the abdominal metastasis was found.

One of the medicines Olga needs is  Sandostatin, which could be found out of the country around $500 per unit of box (each lasts two days)— which means around $4000 only in medicines. Plus the costs in the hospital (us$350 per day), the continued treatments, assisted help, is way more than the family can help with. They will have spent around $19000 in hospital and medical fees in one month.

This campaign has been launched to assist Olga and her two kids to relieve the monetary pressure off them, considering the emotional stress they’re already going through. 
We hope to help this amazing family by extending the time of Olga with both Olena and Alberto.
