Nicole, at just two years old, is fighting a tough battle against leukemia.
Not long ago, Nicole ran and walked with the joy of a two-year-old. Her little steps filled the small home where she lives with her mother and older sister with hope. But everything changed when a diagnosis arrived that struck her family's heart: leukemia.
Since then, her childhood has become a routine of hospitals, tests, and chemotherapy. Although she was referred to Solca and doesn't pay for the treatment, the agreement with the Ministry of Public Health doesn't cover everything. There are medications, special tests, transportation, and other expenses that her mother must cover on her own.
The most painful thing is that, as a result of the illness, Nicole stopped walking. That little girl who once strode confidently around the house now can barely stand. Her legs no longer respond as they once did, and her mother cherishes the memory of those days when she saw her take her first steps, never imagining that she would have to teach her to walk again.
Her mother is a humble woman who tends other people's livestock to put food on the table. With what little she earns, she tries to cover expenses, but medical costs are too high. There are days when the money simply isn't enough, and the fear of not being able to continue providing everything Nicole needs becomes a silent burden.
Despite the pain, there is a glimmer of hope: thank God, Nicole has responded well to chemotherapy, and the doctors offer encouraging words. The battle is tough, but it's not lost.
Today, this family is asking for help to keep going. Any contribution, no matter how small, can bring Nicole closer to her greatest dream: to regain her strength, to walk again, and to have the childhood that illness stole from her far too soon.
