Let’s help Michael recover his work vehicle!

Hi everyone, I’m Rachel Feeney, and today I want to share the story of my dear childhood friend, Maykol Torres, whom I’ve known for almost 20 years.

Maykol is an incredibly hardworking person and a true fighter who has overcome many challenges in life. Through effort, dedication, and passion, he carved his own path and founded a surf school that represents not only his livelihood, but also his life’s purpose.

A few days ago, Maykol was in a car accident during a heavy storm. He had just dropped off some clients when a rear tire blew out, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The car spun several times and ended up flipping into a deep ditch.

Thankfully, he walked away unharmed. But the car was completely totaled. The hardest part is that this wasn’t just a means of transportation. It was his work tool.

It allowed him to travel between towns, teach surf lessons, carry boards, and attend to his clients.

The vehicle wasn’t insured, and fixing it would cost just as much as buying a new one. Now, without it, Maykol can’t generate income, and his project—his way of life—has come to a complete halt.

That’s why I’m asking from the heart: let’s come together and help him start over. Every donation, no matter how small, is a step toward recovering the tool he needs to keep doing what he loves.

Hola a todos, soy Rachel Feeney y hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la historia de mi querido amigo de infancia, Maykol Torres, a quien conozco desde hace casi 20 años.

Maykol es una persona increíblemente trabajadora, un verdadero luchador que ha superado muchos desafíos en la vida. Con esfuerzo, dedicación y mucha pasión, logró construir su propio camino, fundando una escuela de surf que no solo representa su sustento, sino también su propósito de vida.

Hace unos días, Maykol sufrió un accidente en carretera durante una fuerte tormenta. Venía de dejar a unos clientes cuando una llanta trasera se pinchó, lo que hizo que perdiera el control del vehículo. El carro giró varias veces hasta caer en una cuneta profunda y quedó completamente volcado.

Afortunadamente, él salió ileso. Pero su carro quedó en pérdida total. Lo más difícil de todo es que ese auto no era solo un medio de transporte: era su herramienta de trabajo. Gracias a él podía moverse entre localidades, dar clases, transportar tablas y atender a sus alumnos.

El vehículo no tenía seguro, y repararlo cuesta prácticamente lo mismo que adquirir uno nuevo. Hoy, sin ese auto, Maykol no puede generar ingresos, y su proyecto –su forma de vida– se ha detenido por completo.

Por eso, hoy les pido de corazón que nos unamos para ayudarlo a empezar de nuevo. Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, es un paso para recuperar su herramienta de trabajo y permitirle seguir adelante con su sueño.
