Hola a todos. Para quienes no me conocen, mi nombre es Mariela Domínguez, soy venezolana y salí de mi país en el año 2018, después del fallecimiento de mi mamá y en busca de un mejor futuro.

Mi hermana Marilda, quien padece esquizofrenia residual quedó en Caracas con mi hermana Leonor hasta el 2023 cuando pude traerla a vivir a Perú conmigo. Marilda depende completamente de mí, y no ha sido fácil, pero he hecho todo lo posible para que tenga una vida digna, acompaña y querida.

Lamentablemente, desde hace tres meses estoy sin trabajo y hemos tenido que vivir únicamente de mis ahorros, los cuales se han ido en gastos básicos como alquiler y alimentos.

El domingo 1 de febrero, Marilda sufrió una caída y tuvo una fractura grave de cadera que requiere una operación inmediata. Ella tiene seguro, pero no cubre el 100% de los costos, y en este momento no puedo afrontar sola esta situación.

Me cuesta mucho pedir ayuda, pero por primera vez me veo en la necesidad de hacerlo. He creado un GoFundMe para intentar reunir el dinero necesario para su operación y darle la oportunidad de recuperarse y volver a estar bien.

Hello everyone. For those who don’t know me, my name is Mariela Domínguez. I am Venezuelan, and I left my country in 2018 after my mother passed away, hoping to build a better future.

My sister Marilda, who suffers from residual schizophrenia, stayed in Caracas with my sister Leonor until 2023 when I was able to bring her to live with me in Peru. Marilda is completely dependent on me. It hasn’t been easy, but I’ve done everything I can to give her a good life, filled with care, dignity, and companionship.

Unfortunately, three months ago I lost my job, and I haven’t been able to find a new one yet. We’ve been living off my savings, which have gone toward basic expenses like rent and food.

On Sunday, February 1st, Matilda had a fall and suffered a severe hip fracture that requires immediate surgery. She has insurance, but it does not cover 100% of the costs, and right now I cannot handle this situation on my own.

It’s very hard for me to ask for help, but today I have no other choice. I’ve created a GoFundMe to try to raise the money needed for her surgery so she can recover and return to a better quality of life.
