Luis Osorio está enfrentando una de las batallas más difíciles de su vida: el cáncer gástrico.

Luis ya venció una vez al cáncer, después de someterse a una cirugía en la que le extirparon parte del estómago para remover el tumor. Posteriormente recibió quimioterapia con la esperanza de que el cáncer quedara atrás. Sin embargo, después de ese proceso tan duro, los médicos confirmaron que la enfermedad regresó.

Actualmente, Luis se encuentra en su segunda ronda de quimioterapia, más radio e inmunoterapia.

Aunque está recibiendo atención médica a través del ISSSTE, la realidad es que los gastos asociados al tratamiento son mucho mayores de lo que cualquier sistema puede cubrir por completo. El seguro de gastos médicos mayores ya se agotó, y su salario —junto con el de su esposa— apenas alcanza para cubrir los gastos básicos del hogar.

Los medicamentos complementarios, estudios adicionales, traslados, alimentación especial y otros tratamientos necesarios representan un costo constante y elevado.

Luis Osorio is facing one of the most difficult battles of his life: gastric cancer.

Luis has already beaten cancer once. He underwent surgery to remove the tumor, which required removing part of his stomach. He then received chemotherapy in the hope that the cancer was gone for good. However, after enduring such a difficult process, doctors confirmed that the disease has returned.

Luis is currently undergoing his second round of chemotherapy, plus radiation and immune therapy.

Although he is receiving medical care through ISSSTE (Mexican health system), the reality is that the costs associated with treatment far exceed what any system can fully cover. His major medical insurance has already been exhausted, and his salary—together with his wife—is barely enough to cover their basic household expenses.

Additional medications, follow-up tests, transportation, specialized nutrition, and other necessary treatments represent a constant and significant financial burden.
