Hoy me acerco a ustedes con el corazón en la mano para pedir ayuda en uno de los momentos más difíciles que hemos vivido como familia.

Mi esposo Iván Maldonado, a quien muchos conocen con cariño como Ivancito, es un hombre extraordinario. Es esposo, padre, abuelo, amigo, maestro, consejero… pero sobre todo, es un ser humano lleno de amor. Siempre ha estado para los demás, ayudando sin esperar nada a cambio, regalando palabras de ánimo incluso en sus propios momentos difíciles.

Quienes lo conocen saben que incluso en medio de su enfermedad, Iván sigue compartiendo mensajes de esperanza cada día, levantando el ánimo de otros cuando él mismo está luchando por mantenerse en pie.

Hace un tiempo, Iván fue diagnosticado con leucemia. Con mucha fe, tratamientos intensos y el apoyo de quienes lo amamos, logró salir adelante. Pero el camino no ha sido fácil: ha enfrentado recaídas, otros tipos de cáncer y enfermedades como hipertensión, diabetes tipo 2 e hipotiroidismo… y aun así, nunca ha perdido su optimismo.

Hoy, la vida nos pone frente a un nuevo y duro desafío:

Iván ha sido diagnosticado con hipertensión pulmonar avanzada.

Esta enfermedad está afectando gravemente su día a día. Le falta el aire incluso para las cosas más simples como vestirse. Sus piernas se hinchan tanto que a veces no puede caminar. Hay días en los que no puede levantarse. Tiene que dormir sentado porque se ahoga al acostarse. Sufre desmayos, taquicardias y una constante sensación de asfixia que también ha empezado a afectar su salud emocional, provocándole ataques de ansiedad y pánico.

Verlo así es devastador.

Aunque hemos luchado con todas nuestras fuerzas, esta vez no podemos solos.

El sistema de salud público no logra responder con la rapidez que su condición necesita, y nos vemos obligados a acudir a atención privada con especialistas en cardiología, neumología y psiquiatría, además de terapias de oxígeno y medicamentos muy costosos.

Nuestra realidad económica también ha cambiado drásticamente. Tenemos un pequeño emprendimiento familiar, pero debido al deterioro de su salud, Iván ya no puede trabajar. Yo hago todo lo posible por sostener el negocio, cuidar de él, de nuestras tres hijas pequeñas y del hogar… pero ha llegado un punto en el que simplemente no me alcanza y la situación me sobrepasa.

Aun así, sigo aquí, con fe.

Hoy dejo a un lado el orgullo y me permito pedir ayuda.

Cualquier aporte, por pequeño que sea, puede hacer una gran diferencia en la vida de Iván y en la estabilidad de nuestra familia.

Y si no puedes donar, compartir esta campaña también nos ayuda muchísimo.

Queremos darle a Iván la oportunidad de seguir luchando, de seguir siendo ese hombre que inspira a otros incluso en medio del dolor, de ser aquel que siempre está.

Today I reach out to you with my heart in my hand to ask for help during one of the most difficult times we have experienced as a family.

My husband, Ivan Maldonado, whom many affectionately call Ivancito, is an extraordinary man. He is a husband, father, grandfather, friend, teacher, counselor… but above all, he is a human being full of love. He has always been there for others, helping without expecting anything in return, offering words of encouragement even in his own difficult moments.

Those who meet him know that even in the midst of his illness, Iván continues to share messages of hope every day, lifting the spirits of others while he himself is struggling to stay afloat.

Some time ago, Iván was diagnosed with leukemia. With great faith, intensive treatments, and the support of those who love him, he managed to pull through. But the road hasn't been easy: he has faced relapses, other types of cancer, and illnesses such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and hypothyroidism… and yet, he has never lost his optimism.

Today, life presents us with a new and difficult challenge: Iván has been diagnosed with advanced pulmonary hypertension.

This illness is severely impacting his daily life. He struggles to breathe even for simple things like getting dressed. His legs swell so much that sometimes he can't walk. There are days when he can't get out of bed. He has to sleep sitting up because he feels like he's suffocating when he lies down. He suffers from fainting spells, rapid heartbeat, and a constant feeling of suffocation that has also begun to affect his emotional health, causing anxiety and panic attacks.

Seeing him like this is devastating.

Although we have fought with all our might, this time we can't do it alone.

The public health system is unable to respond as quickly as his condition requires, and we are forced to seek private care from specialists in cardiology, pulmonology, and psychiatry, in addition to oxygen therapy and very expensive medications.

Our financial situation has also changed drastically. We have a small family business, but due to his deteriorating health, Ivan can no longer work. I do everything I can to keep the business going, to take care of him, our three young daughters, and our home… but it's gotten to the point where it's simply not enough, and the situation is overwhelming me.

Even so, I'm still here, with faith.

Today, I'm putting my pride aside and asking for help.

Any contribution, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in Iván's life and in our family's stability.
