Luis Guillermo is a man of integrity, honesty, and service to others; but most of all he is one of the kindest human beings you could ever meet. A few days ago (7/18), my brother suddenly became ill, and when taken to the emergency room, he was diagnosed with Hepatitis and Hepatic Encephalitis. He became unresponsive and had to be taken to intensive care. Luckily, Luis is still with us, but his road to recovery will not be easy. Luis’ doctors have shared that the recovery will be slow.

Today 7/24, he is still in intensive care, unable to speak, confused and extremely weak. Our family is strong and independent, but we also know that he needs help covering the cost of his care at the hospital, as well as the medicine and therapy required.  As you can imagine, all of this adds up and anything we can do as a community to help Luis Guillermo would be greatly appreciated.

Luis Guillermo es un hombre de integridad, honestidad y servicio a los demás; pero sobre todo es uno de los mejores seres humanos que puedes conocer. Hace unos días (7/18), mi hermano se enfermó repentinamente, y cuando fue llevado a la clinica de emergencia, le diagnosticaron hepatitis y encefalitis hepática. Ha estado inconsciente, y tuvo que ser llevado a cuidados intensivos. Por suerte, Luis está aún con nosotros, pero su camino hacia la recuperación no será fácil. Los doctores de Luis han compartido con la familia que la recuperación será lenta. 

Hoy 7/24, Luis está todavía en terapia intensiva sin poder hablar, confuso y extremadamente débil. Nuestra familia es fuerte e independiente, pero también sabemos que él necesita ayuda para cubrir el costo de su atención en el hospital, las medicinas y una terapia. Como se pueden imaginar todo esto se acumula y cualquier cosa que podamos hacer como comunidad para ayudar a Luis Guillermo sería infinitamente agradecido.
