Ayudemos a Graciela con el cáncer de pulmón

Hola a todos,

Mis hermanos Francisco, José Antonio y yo, Mercedes Bettelli acudimos a este medio tan humano por la salud de nuestra madre Graciela Di Caro, quien justo ahora necesita de nuestro apoyo y colaboración.

Graciela, es una devota madre de tres hijos, venezolana de 67 años, viuda aun siendo joven, hermana amorosa, abuela, amiga genuina y educadora retirada por más de 27 años de servicio, es diagnosticada con cáncer en el pulmón derecho en noviembre del 2022, el cual se sugiere tratamiento de quimioterapia.

Debido a la lucha geopolítica que ha consumido a Venezuela en los ultimos años, dos de sus hijos (Francisco y yo, Mercedes) nos hemos visto obligado a huir a diferentes países por todo el mundo, con la esperanza de una vida mejor y poder ayudar a nuestra madre. Actualmente, Graciela vive en Venezuela, sin embargo, nuestra madre ésta en sus últimos años y no tienen seguro médico ocasionando que sea muy difícil cubrir sus necesidades médicas.

En septiembre del 2022 acude a consulta por dolor en hombro derecho. Estudios de imagen revelaron una enfermedad degenerativa en la columna, lesión ocupante de espacio en hígado y derrame pleural derecho para lo cual se realizó una biopsia. Dicha biopsia pleural presentó células cancerígenas, concluyéndose infiltración por carcinoma de pulmón de células pequeñas. Dado a lo anterior se estadifica la enfermedad como cáncer de pulmón de células pequeñas, enfermedad extendida por lo que se sugiere tratamiento con quimioterapia antineoplásica sistémica con los medicamentos Carboplatino el primer día de ciclo y Etopisido los días 1,2,3 del ciclo. Ambos se administrarán por via intravenosa por un total de 8 ciclos.

Hasta el momento como familia hemos podido con el costo de las primeras consultas médicas y exámenes como por ejemplo: exámenes de sangre, rayos x, tomografías, resonancia magnéticas, biopsias, entre otros. Pero honestamente, los gastos médicos para la aplicación de la quimioterapia requerida se escapan de nuestras posibilidades económicas. Sin embargo, tenemos toda la disposición de encontrar los medios para ayudarla a sanar y acompañarla en el camino.

Actualmente, también se necesita realizar los exámenes medicos indicados por su Oncólogo, para determinar los detalles de la quimioterapia y su progreso durante el tratamiento, por lo que estamos necesitando con urgencia los recursos económicos para avanzar en su tratamiento, no queremos y podemos esperar más, ya que la enfermedad sigue avanzando.

Como saben el sistema de salud pública en Venezuela se encuentra deficiente, saturada y no brinda con los recursos e insumos. Por tal motivo, recurrimos a este medio ya que los costos sobrepasan nuestro presupuesto. Este fondo está creado para que Graciela y su familia se ayuden durante este tiempo de angustias increíbles y para navegar a través de la enfermedad y el tratamiento. Ayudará a apoyar a la familia con los 8 ciclos de las sesiones de quimioterapia y exámenes de chequeo general para su evolución durante el proceso.

La mayoría de los que conocen a nuestra madre pueden testificar que es una mujer desinteresada con un corazón de oro, que ha dedicado su vida a ayudar a otros en su comunidad ubicada en Ortiz, Estado Guárico en Venezuela incluyendo enseñar, dando su amor y su devoción con Dios. Graciela ha sido amiga para muchos y ha dado su mano a los necesitados sin esperar nada a cambio. La ayuda que les proporcionen a nuestra madre es muy importante para nosotros. Agradecemos enormemente a quien pueda empatizar con nuestra situación y ayudarnos con su aporte para sanar a nuestra mamá.

Hello everyone,

My brothers Francisco, José Antonio, and I, Mercedes, are using this very human place for the health of our mother Graciela Di Caro, who right now needs our support and collaboration.

Graciela, is a 67-year-old woman, Venezuelan, devoted mother of three children, a loving sister, grandmother, a genuine friend, and a retired professor with more than 27 years of service, is diagnosed with cancer in the right lung in November 2022, which chemotherapy treatment is suggested.

Due to the political and economic issues that Venezuela has faced for several years, two of us (Francisco and me, Mercedes) have been forced to move out to different countries around the world, hoping for a better life and being able to help our mother. Currently, Graciela lives in Venezuela, however, our mother is of advanced age and unfortunately, she has no health insurance making the situation more difficult for her medical needs.

In September 2022, Graciela presented continuous pain in her right shoulder and studies  revealed a degenerative disease in the spine, a lesion in the liver, and a right pleural, which a biopsy was needed. This pleural biopsy showed small cancer cells(carcinoma). Additionally,, the disease requires systemic antineoplastic chemotherapy with the drugs: Carboplatin on the first day of the cycle and Etopisido on days 1,2,3 of the cycle. Both will be administered intravenously for a total of 8 cycles.

Until now, we could afford the cost of the first medical consultations and tests such as blood tests, x-rays, tomographies, magnetic resonance imaging, biopsies, etc. But honestly, the medical expenses for the application of the required chemotherapy are beyond our economic possibilities. However, we are willing to find a way to support her and accompany her through this situation.

Currently, she needs to do more medical tests referred by your oncologist, in order to determine the progress of the chemotherapy during treatment. For this reason, we urgently need the financial resources to start with the treatment as soon as possible. We would not like to wait any longer as the disease progresses much further.

As you know, the public health system in Venezuela is deficient, crowded, and does not provide resources and supplies. For this reason, we use this place since the costs exceed our budget. This fund is created for Graciela and her family to help each other during this difficult time and support us with the 8 cycles of chemotherapy sessions and general check-up exams for her evolution during the process

Most of those who know our mother can testify that she is a selfless woman with a gold heart, who has dedicated her life to helping others in her community in Venezuela including teaching, giving her love, and her devotion to God. Graciela has been a friend to many and has given her hand to those in need without expecting anything in return. The help you provide our mother is very important to us. We greatly appreciate anyone who can empathize with our situation and help us with their contribution to healing our mother
