Querida familia, amigos y comunidad.

Somos los nietos de Florita y hoy nos toca pedir ayuda para alguien que siempre estuvo ahí para darla. Nuestra abuela fue diagnosticada con Enfermedad de Hakim-Adams (hidrocefalia de presión normal), una condición en la que su cerebro acumula líquido, causándole fuertes malestares que le han quitado por completo su calidad de vida.

Quienes conocen a Florita saben que siempre ha sido una mujer alegre, generosa y llena de amor, alguien que con sus palabras, su cariño y su bondad ha dejado huellas imborrables en todos los que la rodean. Hoy, lamentablemente ella es quien necesita de nosotros.

El tratamiento indicado para que pueda recuperar su salud y bienestar es la colocación de una válvula de derivación ventrículo-peritoneal de presión programable, junto con kits hemostáticos, insumos médicos y una serie de gastos hospitalarios que resultan imposibles de cubrir únicamente con nuestros recursos.

Por eso hemos creado este GoFundMe, con la esperanza de que cada persona que quiera y pueda aportar —ya sea con una donación, compartiendo la campaña o enviando palabras de aliento— se sume a esta causa. Cada ayuda, por pequeña que parezca, hace una gran diferencia en este momento tan difícil.

Dear family, friends, and community.

We are Florita's grandchildren, and today we must ask for help for someone who was always there to give it. Our grandmother was diagnosed with Hakim-Adams Disease (normal pressure hydrocephalus), a condition in which her brain accumulates fluid, causing severe discomfort that has completely robbed her of her quality of life.

Those who know Florita know that she has always been a cheerful, generous, and loving woman, someone whose words, affection, and kindness have left indelible marks on everyone around her. Today, unfortunately, she is the one who needs us.

The treatment indicated for her to regain her health and well-being is the placement of a programmable pressure ventriculoperitoneal shunt, along with hemostatic kits, medical supplies, and a series of hospital expenses that are impossible to cover solely with our resources.
