Enid Yorleni Revilla Gómez, es una mujer de 55 años de edad, residente en la ciudad de Punto Fijo, del Estado Falcón, Venezuela. Madre de dos adolescentes un varón 20 y una hembra de 16 años de edad. Desde hace dos años fue diagnosticada con una enfermedad inmunológica llamada “Síndrome de Cogan”, es una enfermedad rara y de origen desconocido, que ataca el tejido sanguíneo del cuerpo humano, en su caso, atacó ambos ojos, provocándole úlceras corneales y la pérdida total de la visión. El tratamiento indicado por el Oftalmólogo fue Prednisolona en gotas, antibióticos con antialérgicos, Ciclosporina en gotas y lágrimas artificiales, y el tratamiento indicado por el Inmunólogo fue Prednisona y Ciclosporina vía oral.
Al cabo de 7 meses, manteniendo dichos tratamientos al día, en octubre de 2018, ocurre una micro perforación en el ojo izquierdo, y el Oftalmólogo realiza una biopsia ocular verificando que tiene “Pénfigo Ocular”, en ese momento el Oftalmólogo sugiere inmediatamente un trasplante de córnea, pero el Inmunólogo prefirió esperar, ya que el sistema inmunológico no estaba apto para recibir nuevas córneas, por temor que ese nuevo órgano trasplantado fuese rechazado por su cuerpo, por ese motivo ha pasado todo este tiempo, manteniendo tratamientos inmunológicos con Ciclosporina, Prednisona y Micofenolato que son esteroides de amplio espectro.
En febrero del año en curso, fue evaluada por su inmunólogo el cual la encontró en óptimas condiciones para realizar dichos trasplantes.
Se determinó que en el ojo izquierdo posee Leucoma Corneal que abarca eje pupilar, desprendimiento Coroideo y una perforación de 2 milímetros de diámetro; y en el ojo derecho, tiene leucoma corneal y adelgazamiento corneal en Apex y Catarata.
Se sugiere cirugías de trasplante de Córnea + Facoemulsificación de catarata con implante de lente intraocular en el ojo derecho y trasplante de Córnea con tectónico en el ojo izquierdo.
Dichas intervenciones deben ser realizadas en el Centro Oftalmológico de Valencia (CEOVAL), en la Ciudad de Valencia, del estado Carabobo, Venezuela.
DIAGNOSTICO: OJO DERECHO: SINDROME DE COGAN, LEUCOMA CORNEAL ADELGAZAMIENTO CORNEAL EN APEX Y CATARATA. OJO IZQUIERDO: PERFORACION CORNEAL, DESPRENDIMIENTO COROIDEO (POR ECOGRAFIA) Y SINDROME DE COGAN.
Cabe destacar, que estamos viviendo con mucha preocupación el estado de salud de Enid, porque pasa el tiempo y además en Venezuela existe una grave crisis de salud, aunado a la situación de pandemia por el COVID19 que nos azota.
Cabe destacar que en estos tres años no ha tenido la oportunidad de ver a sus hijos graduarse, ayudar a atender a su madre mientras pasaba por momentos muy críticos de salud, la cual falleció hace un par de días atrás.
Es por eso que hemos decidido recaudar fondos para cubrir los gastos clínicos de dichas intervenciones, medicamentos, tratamientos y traslados interciudades.

Enid is the loving mother of two children, a 20 year old son and a 16 year old daughter.
Two years ago, Enid was diagnosed with an immune disease called “Cogan's Syndrome”, which is a rare disease of unknown cause, which attacks tissues in the body. In her case, it attacked both eyes, causing corneal ulcers and a total loss of vision.
The treatment prescribed by the Ophthalmologist was Prednisolone drops, antibiotics with antiallergics, Cyclosporine drops and artificial tears, and the treatment prescribed by the Immunologist was Prednisone and Cyclosporine orally.
After 7 months of dutifully taking her medicines as prescribed, a micro perforation occurred in her left eye, and the Ophthalmologist performed an eye biopsy verifying that she has “Ocular Pemphigus”.
At which time the Ophthalmologist immediately suggested a corneal transplant, but the Immunologist preferred to wait, since her immune system was not ready to receive new corneas, which could have resulted in her body rejecting them.
To prepare her immune system for the transplant,
In February of this year, she was evaluated by her immunologist who found her in optimal condition to receive the transplants.
TRANSCRIPT OF DIAGNOSES:
RIGHT EYE: COGAN SYNDROME, CORNEAL LEUKOMA, CORNEAL SLIMMING IN APEX AND CATARACT.
LEFT EYE: CORNEAL PERFORATION, CHOROID DETACHMENT (BY ECOGRAPHY) AND COGAN SYNDROME.
Cornea transplantation surgeries + cataract phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation in the right eye and cornea transplantation with tectonic in the left eye have been suggested as the optimal form of treatment.
This surgery is to be carried out at the Valencia Ophthalmology Center (CEOVAL), in the City of Valencia, Carabobo state, Venezuela.
We deeply regret that Enid has been unable to see her children nor has she been able to fully share in the joys of her children's lives in these past years. She was also unable to care for her elderly mother in her last days.
That said, we are making this GoFundMe to help cover Enid's medical costs so that she may regain her vision and so that she can be there for her children in the ways that all parents wish to be.
