Dear friends, family and compassionate others,

We're reaching out from Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco, on behalf of our beloved brother, Daniel

Hurtado; a devoted husband, father, son, sibling, and friend who is now in the fight of his life.

He has dedicated his entire life to his career as a veterinarian, being a fundamental part of the

veterinary community in the area.

Not long ago, Daniel was living a vibrant, active life, spending weekends mountain biking

through the hills he loved, and sharing laughter and love with his wife and two beautiful children, aged 12 and 6.

But everything changed when he was diagnosed with lung fibrosis, a progressive and incurable condition that is quickly robbing him of his ability to breathe and live normally, having to be 100% of the time on oxygen

Despite having always been incredibly healthy, never being a smoker or any other vices and full

of energy, Daniel’s condition has deteriorated faster than anyone expected.

Doctors have now confirmed that his only real chance of survival is a lung transplant — an expensive and high-risk procedure, but one that could give him many more years with his family.

In the last couple weeks Daniel’s health deteriorated very fast, and had to be hospitalized by emergency where he remains stable until the transplant can be done, he is currently number #1 on the list for transplant and hoping that with the help of everyone make this possible.

Unfortunately, the costs are overwhelming. Between the transplant surgery, pre- and

post-operative care, medications, frequent hospital visits, and lost income, the financial burden is far more than Daniel and his family can bear alone.

We are asking for your help to raise 5 million mexican pesos(270 k USD) the expenses most

likely be much higher, but the money will be used as follow: -the cost of the organ transportation which often is done by helicopter -The cost of the lung transplant surgery. Ongoing specialist care and rehabilitation. -Support for his wife and kids during this challenging time.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to giving Daniel the chance to

breathe freely again — to watch his kids grow up, to return to the work he loves, and to continuebeing the heart of his family.

Queridos amigos, familiares y demás personas generosas:

Por éste medio nos hemos organizado desde Tepatitlán de Morelos Jalisco para solicitar apoyo en nombre de nuestro querido hermano y amigo Daniel Hurtado, un esposo y padre devoto que ahora está luchando por su vida. Daniel ha dedicado toda su vida a su carrera como veterinario, siendo un miembro fundamental de la comunidad de veterinarios en zona.

No hace mucho tiempo, Daniel vivía una vida saludable y activa, pasando los fines de semana

en su bicicleta por las montañas y senderos que tanto ama, compartiendo tiempo con su esposa y sus dos hermosos hijos, de 12 y 6 años.

Pero todo cambió cuando le diagnosticaron

fibrosis pulmonar, una enfermedad progresiva e incurable que rápidamente le está robando

su capacidad de respirar y vivir normalmente.

A pesar de haber gozado siempre de una salud excepcional, de una energía plena y jamás

haber fumado o caído en otros vicios, la condición de Daniel se ha deteriorado más rápido de lo esperado.

Los médicos han confirmado que su única posibilidad real de supervivencia es un trasplante de pulmón, un procedimiento costoso y de alto riesgo, pero que podría brindarle muchos años más con su familia.

En las últimas semanas la salud de Daniel se deterioró muy rápido, y tuvo que ser hospitalizado de emergencia donde permanece estable hasta que se pueda realizar el trasplante, actualmente es el número #1 en la lista para trasplante y esperando que con la ayuda de todos ésto sea posible.

Desafortunadamente, los costos son muy altos. Entre el trasplante de pulmones, los cuidados ,

los medicamentos, las frecuentes visitas al hospital y la pérdida de ingresos; es una carga

financiera mucho más grande de lo que Daniel y su familia pueden afrontar solos.

Solicitamos su ayuda para recaudar 5 millones de pesos mexicanos, aunque en realidad el

costo estimado será mucho más alto pero nos ayudará para cubrir lo siguiente: -Traslado del órgano, que normalmente se realiza en helicóptero - El costo de la cirugía de trasplante de pulmón. - Atención especializada y rehabilitación continua. - Apoyo a su esposa e hijos durante este momento difícil.

Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, nos acerca un paso más a darle a Daniel la oportunidad de volver a respirar libremente, de ver crecer a sus hijos, de regresar al trabajo que ama y de seguir siendo el corazón de su familia.
