Ayudemos a Conchita - Help us rebuild Conchita's home

Hola a todos,

Como muchos sabéis la DANA ha afectado a miles de personas en Valencia, dejando a familias sin hogares y negocios destrozados. Las primeras ayudas de alimentos, ropa y limpieza han ido llegando pero ahora toca reconstruir hogares y negocios.

Proponemos aquí colaborar con una ayuda concreta: la reconstrucción del hogar de Conchita, una señora pensionista, soltera, de 84 años que vive en un piso de planta baja en Algemesí, donde el desbordamiento del rio Magro ocasionó una riada que arraso lo que encontró a su paso por las calles del pueblo casi 2 metros de agua y lodo, entre otras muchas la casa de Conchita. Gracias a la ayuda de su vecino del piso de arriba pudo resguardarse de la riada y salvarse la vida, pero ha perdido todo lo que tenía en su casa.

Nos une una vinculación especial con Conchita porque nos cuidó a todas las hermanas hasta que se jubiló y se volvió a Algemesí y hemos seguido teniendo contacto con ella porque nos consideramos su familia. Nos gustaría ayudar a Conchita a recuperar su hogar, reparar paredes y puertas, sustituir el mobiliario y los electrodomésticos imprescindibles, y ayudarle a reponer los principales enseres domésticos y personales (ha perdido hasta las gafas y la dentadura). Para ello, hemos lanzado esta recaudación de fondos para que con nuestro pequeño granito de arena podamos contribuir a mejorar un poco la situación que se está viviendo en Valencia.

Hello everyone,

As you may have seen in the news, devastating floods (DANA) have affected thousands of people in Valencia, leaving families homeless and businesses destroyed. First aids in the form of food, clothing, and cleaning supplies have already arrived, but now it’s time to rebuild homes and businesses.

We propose collaborating for a special purpose: the reconstruction of Conchita’s home, an 84-year-old retired woman who lives alone in a ground-floor apartment in Algemesí, where the overflow of the Magro River caused a flood that swept through the streets of the town, with nearly 2 meters of water and mud affecting many houses, including Conchita’s. Thanks to the help of her neighbor, she was able to shelter from the flood and save her life, but she lost everything she had in her home.

We have a special bond with Conchita because she took care of all of us sisters until she retired and returned to Algemesí. We’ve stayed in contact with her since then because we consider her part of our family. We would like to help Conchita recover her home, repair the walls and doors, replace the furniture and essential appliances, and assist in replenishing her main household and personal belongings (she even lost her glasses and dentures). To achieve this, we’ve launched this fundraising campaign so that with our small contribution, we can help improve the situation that is currently being experienced in Valencia.
