Hello, I am Ydalmys, Ana’s sister. She arrived in the United States in 2019 by crossing the border. She was detained for six months and, although she was unable to win her case, she was ultimately released subject to a deportation order. She built a life here and had two beautiful children—a 1-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy—who depend entirely on her, especially the little girl, who is very attached to her and is still breastfeeding. Ana is the one who is with them 24/7, as her husband has to go out to work.
She has an active family-based petition (Form I-130)—filed in November 2023—sponsored by her husband, who is a U.S. citizen. Since her release, she has been required to attend regular reporting appointments with ICE; however, during her appointment in November 2025, an electronic ankle monitor was placed on her. Since that date, representatives from the ISAP program have been conducting home visits. Regrettably, during a visit today—April 29, 2026—she was taken into custody by an individual she believed to be an ISAP agent. She had been deceived: the visitor was not an ISAP agent, but rather an ICE agent posing as one. Upon opening the door, she saw him holding a laptop; he told her, "I don't have Wi-Fi—I'm using the Wi-Fi signal from my phone, which is inside my vehicle." He then instructed her to step outside the house so that his laptop could pick up the signal. She proceeded to step out, but the moment she set foot outside the house, two SUVs immediately pulled up. A total of nine individuals exited the two vehicles, surrounded her, informed her that she was under arrest, prevented her from moving, and separated her from her four-year-old child. She had been tricked into leaving her home so that they could take her into custody.
As a mother myself, it is painful to see her and to imagine the anguish she must be feeling over her children. She is a very sensitive person; merely speaking about the possibility that something like this might happen to her one day would bring her to tears! And now, the very day she feared most has arrived. She has no criminal record—neither in Venezuela nor here—and she simply wants to be with her family. She has held TPS (Temporary Protected Status) since 2021 and was awaiting approval of her family-based petition (I-130). That is why we are reaching out to you today.
We are seeking your help and generosity to cover legal fees for an attorney, bail costs, and all the other expenses necessary to secure my sister's release.
Every contribution, of any kind, counts. If you are unable to donate financially, you can still help by sharing our story and offering your prayers so that she may return to her children and husband.
We are deeply grateful for your support and your prayers.
