Ayuda a Germán a recuperar la audición

Me llamo Germán Trujillo Rada. Tengo 60 años, nacionalidad venezolana-española, y resido en España desde diciembre de 2018. Soy ingeniero agrónomo y artista plástico, pero actualmente estoy desempleado. Nací con un daño congénito de ambos oídos (Hipoacusia Neurosensorial Bilateral, severa derecha y moderada izquierda), que se ha agudizado en los últimos años, causándome importante pérdida de percepción de los tonos agudos y medios, dejándome percibir solamente los tonos bajos.
Como consecuencia de esta discapacidad auditiva bilateral, que ha afectado gravemente todas mis comunicaciones, se me hace difícil trabajar, socializar, o compartir con mi familia y seres queridos, porque entiendo menos de la mitad de lo que me dicen. Mi participación en conversaciones en grupos se volvió muy limitada en su forma presencial u online, e imposible en sitios públicos, porque el ruido del entorno no me permite entender absolutamente nada. Lo cual ha reducido mis posibilidades de encontrar un empleo. He dejado de ir a reuniones sociales y artísticas, conferencias, teatros y espectáculos, entre otros, porque realmente no oigo ni entiendo lo que se dice. Las noticias, documentales o películas puedo verlas solamente si tienen subtítulos.
Aunque he desarrollado habilidades para paliar y convivir con esta discapacidad, tales como leer los labios, colocar la mano detrás de la oreja para que el sonido me llegue mejor, o sonreír y pedir que se me repita nuevamente, muchas veces me doy cuenta de que entendí lo contrario de lo dicho, porque me reclaman que no estoy prestando atención o que mis respuestas no tienen sentido. Ahora, con la pandemia del coronavirus y el uso obligatorio de las mascarillas que nos cubren la boca, esta situación se ha agravado porque no puedo ayudarme con la lectura de los labios. Así que entiendo aún menos que antes, lo que me hace sentir más afectado, por lo que a menudo finjo comprender.
He acudido a un centro médico especializado para un examen auditivo, y la solución más efectiva que me han recomendado es adaptarme dos Amplificadores Auditivos (audífonos retroauriculares). Necesito encontrar una ayuda económica urgente para poder comprarlos.
Conseguir los amplificadores me permitirá retomar mi vida normal, volver a sentirme conectado con la gente, y reincorporarme en las actividades laborales y sociales. Me dirijo a Ustedes para que me ayuden a recaudar fondos para la compra de los dos Amplificadores Auditivos y para los gastos asociados tales como el seguro contra su pérdida o robo, y las baterías de repuesto.

Help Germán to recover hearing
My name is Germán Trujillo Rada. I’m 60 years old, Venezuelan-Spanish, and I live in Spain since December 2018. I’m an agricultural engineer and a visual artist, but I’m currently unemployed. I was born with a congenital damage of both ears (Bilateral Sensorineural Hearing Loss, severe right and moderate left), that has further aggravated in recent years, causing me significant loss of perception of high and medium-pitched sounds, allowing me to hear only the bass ones.
As a consequence of this bilateral hearing impairment that seriously affected all my communications, it is difficult for me to work, socialize, or share with my family and loved ones, because I understand less than half of what they say. My participation in group conversations, both in person and online, turned very limited for me, and totally impossible in public places as the background noise does not allow me to understand anything at all. This has significantly reduced my chances of finding a job. I no longer attend social or artistic meetings, conferences, theaters plays, and shows, among others, since I really can’t hear or understand what is said. I can watch the news, documentaries and movies only if they have subtitles.
Though I have developed abilities to palliate and live with this impairment, such as lip-reading, placing my hand behind my ear so that the sound reaches me better, or smile and ask people to repeat what they have just said, I often realize that I misunderstand messages, because many people claim that I do not pay attention or that my replies do not make sense. Now during the coronavirus pandemic and the compulsory use of masks, my situation got even more challenging since I can’t benefit from lip-reading. This way I understand even less than before, which makes me feel more affected, and therefore I often pretend that I do understand.
I have consulted a specialized medical center taking a hearing exam, and their recommendation as the most effective solution is to have 2 hearing aids adapted (hearing amplifiers / behind-the-ear hearing aid). I need urgent financial support to be able to cover the expenses.
The acquirement of the hearing aid will allow me to recover normal life, to feel connected with people again, and return to social and professional activities. I address you to help me to raise funds for the purchase of the 2 hearing amplifiers and the associates expenses such as the insurance against their loss or theft, as well as the spare batteries.
