Hola, mi nombre es Ely Duque y soy la mamá de mi superhéroe adorado Lorenzo. El es el bebé de mi casa que junto a su hermano y su papá hacemos una familia de 4.

El nació en marzo del 2021 y lo esperábamos que mucha amor pero nuestra alegría se vio opacara cuando nos dieron el diagnóstico que el tenia craneosinostosis (los huesos de su cabecita se cerraron prematuramente). Desde que nos dieron la noticia estuvimos en visitas médicas con neurocirujanos, oftalmólogos, psicólogos, genetista y cirujano craneofaciales.

A sus 3 meses se le realizó una dura cirugía donde implicaba romperle 2 huesos de su cabeza para que tomara la forma correcta y su cerebro empezara a crecer correctamente, luego uso un casco ortopédico y realizó terapia ocupacional.

Todo iba bien hasta que 2 años después al realizarle una nueva tomografía se dieron cuenta que esta craneosinostosis volvió aparecer en otro lado de su cabeza (caso muy extraño que suceda) y tendrá que ser intervenido nuevamente, esta vez, con una operación mucho más agresiva, más difícil ya que implica incisiones más grandes donde le colocarán una especie de tornillos encima de sus orejas el cual hará que los huesos de cabeza no se unan y formen más espacio, luego de esto, 4 meses después tendrá una tercera operación para remover el metal que será colocado que expandirá los huesos para que haga más espacio y el cerebro empiece a formarse correctamente.

Él es un niño súper ocurrente, ama cantar y bailar, no hay música que no lo ponga alegre. Su amor hacia su hermano es insuperable y disfruta jugar y pasear con amigos y su familia.

Afortunadamente el cuenta con un seguro que le cubre su operación pero aún se necesita recursos para realizar exámenes genéticos en de nosotros los padres, extraer sangre para futuras transfusiones asi como pagar 2 tomografías especializadas que no entran en seguro, esta última es para ambas operaciones .

La fecha de la primera operación ya la tenemos, será operado el 8 de Diciembre en el children’s hospital de Dallas Tx y la segunda operación aún no hay fecha . La suma de los exámenes médicos + las transfusiones ascienden a 5500. Todo el dinero Que se recaude será usado para este fin.

Everything was going well until 2 years later, when they performed a new CT scan, they realized that this craniosynostosis appeared again on another side of his head (a very strange case to happen) and he will have to undergo surgery again, this time, with a much more aggressive operation. , more difficult since it involves larger incisions where they will place a type of screws above his ears which will prevent the head bones from joining together and form more space, after this, 4 months later he will have a third operation to remove the metal that will be placed that will expand the bones to make more space and the brain begins to form properly.

He is a super witty child, he loves to sing and dance, there is no music that doesn't make him happy. His love for his brother is unsurpassed and he enjoys playing and walking with friends and his family.

Fortunately he has insurance that covers his operation but resources are still needed to perform genetic tests on us parents, draw blood for future transfusions as well as paying for 2 specialized tomography scans that are not covered by insurance, the latter is for both operations.

We already have the date of the first operation, he will be operated on December 8 at the children's hospital in Dallas Tx. There is no date for the second operation yet. The sum of the medical examinations + transfusions amounts to 5500. All the money collected will be used for this purpose.
