Hello, my name is Iris, and I write these lines with a heavy heart and a deep sense of faith. Our family is going through an unexpected and profoundly painful time. We recently attended, as we always have, a scheduled appointment with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), complying with all the requirements… but that day my husband, Carlos, was detained without any explanation.

We weren't breaking any laws.

We weren't hiding.

We are in the asylum process, walking with integrity, responsibility, and the fear of God in our hearts.

That's why this blow has been so hard. I never imagined that by doing the right thing, by showing up for a mandatory appointment, they would end up taking Carlos away without letting us understand why. Since that day, our lives have changed.

Carlos is a noble, hardworking man, a loving father, and a man who fears God. His absence has left an immense void in our home. And although the uncertainty weighs heavily, we continue to believe that God is just and that He will bring clarity and grace to this situation.

Right now, we are facing significant legal expenses. The lawyer handling Carlos's case needs to cover crucial administrative costs to move forward, appeal, and file the necessary documents for his defense. I've done everything I can, but I've reached my limit.

That's why I'm starting this campaign:

To ask for help. To ask for prayer. To ask that we don't walk this path alone.

Hola, mi nombre es Iris, y escribo estas líneas con el corazón conmovido y lleno de fe. Nuestra familia está viviendo un momento inesperado y profundamente doloroso. Hace poco asistimos, como siempre lo hemos hecho, a una cita programada con migración (ICE), cumpliendo con todo lo requerido… pero ese día mi esposo Carlos fue detenido sin darnos ninguna explicación. No estábamos evadiendo leyes. No nos estábamos escondiendo. Estamos bajo un proceso de asilo, caminando con integridad, responsabilidad y con temor de Dios en el corazón. Por eso este golpe ha sido tan duro. Nunca pensé que haciendo lo correcto, presentándonos a una cita obligatoria, terminarían llevándose a Carlos sin permitirnos entender por qué. Desde ese día, nuestra vida cambió. Carlos es un hombre noble, trabajador, un padre amoroso y un hombre que teme a Dios. Su ausencia ha dejado un vacío inmenso en nuestro hogar. Y aunque la incertidumbre pesa, seguimos creyendo que Dios es justo y que Él traerá claridad y favor a esta situación. En este momento estamos enfrentando gastos legales importantes. El abogado que lleva el caso de Carlos necesita cubrir costos administrativos cruciales para avanzar, apelar y presentar los documentos necesarios para su defensa. Yo he hecho todo lo posible, pero humanamente he llegado al límite. Por eso abro esta campaña: Para pedir ayuda. Para pedir oración. Para pedir que no caminemos solos. Tu apoyo —por pequeño que sea— será una semilla de esperanza. Será una oportunidad para que Carlos tenga una defensa justa, y para que nuestra familia pueda reencontrarse y empezar de nuevo.
