On Monday, March 9, the father of my children was detained by ICE, and since that moment our family has been going through an incredibly difficult and unexpected situation. 

 He is a hardworking, honest man and a wonderful human being. He has always been the primary financial provider for our household, working long hours to make sure our family has everything we need. He is responsible, respectful, and has a very kind heart. In addition to caring for us here, he constantly helps support his family in Colombia whenever they need it.

He has always been generous, compassionate, and willing to help others, even when he himself had very little. Most importantly, he is a loving and devoted father to our two 6-year-old twin children. They share a very special bond with their dad. They love playing with him, listening to his advice, and feeling safe in his presence. Since this happened, they ask every day when they will be able to see their father again. 

As a mother, it is heartbreaking to see the sadness in their eyes and try to explain something that even adults struggle to fully understand. They simply miss their dad and want him to come home.

 At this time, we are trying to raise funds to cover the costs of an attorney and a possible bond, hoping that he can return home to his family as soon as possible. 

The legal expenses are extremely high, and this situation took us completely by surprise. Any support, no matter the amount, would mean the world to us during this difficult time. If you are unable to donate, sharing our story would also help us tremendously.

El pasado lunes 9 de marzo, el padre de mis hijos fue detenido por ICE, y desde ese momento nuestra familia está atravesando una situación muy difícil e inesperada.

Él es un hombre trabajador, honesto y un maravilloso ser humano. Siempre ha sido el principal apoyo económico de nuestro hogar, dedicando largas horas de trabajo para asegurarse de que a nuestra familia no le falte nada. Es una persona responsable, respetuosa y con un corazón muy grande.

Además de cuidar de nosotros aquí, también ayuda constantemente a su familia en Colombia, apoyándolos cuando lo necesitan. Siempre ha sido una persona generosa, solidaria y dispuesta a ayudar a los demás, incluso cuando él mismo tenía poco.

Pero sobre todo, es un padre amoroso y dedicado para nuestros dos hijos gemelos de 6 años. Ellos tienen un vínculo muy especial con su papá. Les encanta jugar con él, escuchar sus consejos y sentirse protegidos por su presencia. Desde que ocurrió esta situación, ellos preguntan todos los días cuándo podrán volver a ver a su papá. Como madre, es muy difícil ver la tristeza en sus ojos y tratar de explicarles algo que ni siquiera los adultos logramos entender completamente. Ellos simplemente extrañan a su papá y desean que pueda volver a casa.

En este momento estamos tratando de reunir fondos para poder cubrir los gastos de un abogado y la posible fianza, con la esperanza de que pueda regresar a casa con su familia lo antes posible. Los costos legales son muy altos y esta situación nos tomó completamente por sorpresa.

Cualquier apoyo, sin importar la cantidad, significa muchísimo para nosotros en este momento tan difícil. Si no es posible donar, también nos ayudaría mucho que puedan compartir nuestra historia.
