En los últimos meses de su vida, fue diagnosticada con aspergilosis invasiva, una infección fúngica rara y grave. Esta infección avanzó rápidamente y desencadenó fibrosis pulmonar, una condición crónica y, en última instancia, fatal que comprometió severamente sus pulmones y su capacidad para respirar.

Luchó con valentía, pasando sus últimas semanas en el hospital, rodeada de su familia y de un equipo médico dedicado que hizo todo lo posible por darle más tiempo. Lamentablemente, a pesar de todos los esfuerzos, su cuerpo ya no pudo soportar el daño que la enfermedad le había causado. Nos despedimos de ella mucho antes de lo que hubiéramos querido.

Durante su hospitalización, nuestra familia hizo todo lo posible para asegurar que recibiera la mejor atención. Como resultado, ahora enfrentamos gastos médicos significativos por su tratamiento, que incluyó cuidados intensivos, soporte respiratorio, medicamentos y numerosos exámenes.

Hello, my name is Andrea Lopez, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart to share the story of my beloved mother, Maria Milagros Alvarez de Lopez, who recently passed away after a difficult and heartbreaking battle with illness.

My mother was a strong, loving woman who always put others before herself. In the last few months of her life, she was diagnosed with invasive aspergillosis, a rare and serious fungal infection. This infection rapidly progressed and triggered pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic and ultimately fatal condition that severely compromised her lungs and ability to breathe.

She fought bravely, spending her final weeks in the hospital surrounded by her family and the dedicated medical team who tried everything to give her more time. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, her body could no longer keep up with the toll the illness had taken. We said goodbye to her far too soon.

During her hospitalization, our family did everything we could to ensure she received the best care possible. As a result, we now face significant medical expenses from her treatment, which included intensive care, respiratory support, medications, and numerous tests.

We are humbly asking for your help in covering the costs of these medical bills so we can focus on grieving and honoring her memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us and would ease a burden that feels overwhelming during an already painful time.
