Hello everyone !. We are the family of Rafael Ortiz, affectionately called “Rafa” or “ El abuelo Rafael”. We want to help and support you in this difficult economic situation due to his delicate health.
15 days ago Rafa had a heart attack and, thanks to the help of a great friend, he was able to go to the emergency room and then be transferred to Hospital Del Valle, in San Pedro de Sula, Honduras, where he underwent an emergency catheterization of the heart, since He had an artery with a blood clot.
Thanks to help of doctors and new technologies, they managed to make this operation successful and Rafa could get away with it last October 16, 2021. He was given approximately 2 days in intensive care, and then he was transferred to a room general and from there to your home promptly where you have to be at all rest, with medical assistance and a check-up for a minimum of 15 days.
As of today November 6, Rafa has relapsed again, with a pulmonary infection and heart failure that again requires intensive care, and in the future a Bypass, which will travel to Colombia soon to be able to perform the surgery since in Honduras it is not possible for his situation.
Due to life situations, our father lives in San Pedro de Sula without a direct family since we, his children have settled in other countries, some studying and others starting a family and trying to start again due to the global situation of the pandemic.
Rafa is in a complicated situation, since he works independently and due to his health situation it will be difficult for him to recover and get ahead with his work so soon. Even so, with the support that we and his Family can give him, the hospital's surgery and intensive care bills are very high since he did not have health insurance at that moment.
Difficult times will come and that is why we are turning to this medium to receive support from those who can support for good act of charity.
God has been present in each one of us, and once again he has been faithful giving them a new chance at life, a new beginning. He has given us the possibility to reconnect, and to understand values and priorities in the family.
They have been long and complicated days, but we have been grateful that Rafa is still with us, and that now is the time to continue fighting not only for oneself, but also for others.
We hope that God will give him more time to live and enjoy those around him, physically and in his heart.
Blessings and a thousand thanks to those who have been able to support us in this cause.
