JENNY CLARET CARDENAS FERNANDEZ
Aunque siempre evito contar mi historia, considero necesaria hacerla pública. Todo comenzó con una patología desde los 15 años: me diagnosticaron Lupus por los intensos dolores musculares que afectaban mi movilidad, altas fiebres reumáticas, valores positivos en mis exámenes de sangre, y la transformación de color en mis manos debido a la circulación sanguínea. Era el llamado “Síndrome de Raynaud”. Pero eso no me impidió seguir mi vida y mis sueños de graduarme de Abogado en la UCV, a pesar de los difíciles momentos que me causaban las crisis reumáticas, porque quizás era lo que más me afectaba para esa época de mis 18 años, la misma que con el tiempo paso a otro diagnóstico: la enfermedad de CREST. A esto le sumo el impacto emocional de la pérdida de mi padre por un ACV fulminante. Así que mi vida continúa con más esfuerzo en trabajar y seguir estudiando. Comencé a trabajar en el SENIAT, dedicando 14 años de mi vida a este organismo gubernamental, continuando mi formación académica para mejorar los ingresos y así ser el sustento de mi hogar, (mi madre necesitaba apoyo luego de cuidar de mi padre y mi hermano era menor de edad) ...mantener mi salud estable era otra prioridad.
De esos años recuerdo que los médicos me recomendaban descansar en casa, pero no me gustaba tomar reposo y trabajaba hasta con mis tratamientos endovenosos, pues me era grato cumplir con mis asignaciones; para mí la felicidad es sentirme útil a pesar de mi patología.
Aprendí a vivir con mis días buenos y otros no tanto, evitando decaer y llevando un control médico, espiritual – emocional, que me permitieran estar activa y productiva.
Pasé por otros altibajos en estos últimos años, mi sistema inmunológico debilitado, quimioterapias por un supuesto cáncer, inicio de vitiligo, una pérdida de bebé a los 7 meses de gestación, sufriendo ahora de la tiroides y de la glicemia (lo cual afecta mi cicatrización); pero de lo que siempre me cuidé y los médicos me advertían, me sucedió el 15 de abril 2020. Dedicada como siempre, ahora al Arte y la cultura, pasión que me motiva a cumplir múltiples funciones de manera inagotable en la Asociación Venezolana de Artistas Plásticos (AVAP), resbalé por la poca iluminación y el piso húmedo del lugar y me caí por las escaleras. Tengo ahora una fractura consecuencia de un hundimiento de la meseta tibial de mi rodilla izquierda, la cual amerita una operación URGENTE para volver a caminar, regresar a mis actividades de rutina legales, como bajar y subir escaleras de los tribunales, registros, continuar la planificación cultural, representación legal de la AVAP, impulsando el talento venezolano.
Por lo tanto solicito la ayuda y generosidad de todos ustedes, ya que lamentablemente el seguro médico que tengo no cubre la cirugía, la placa, tornillos, injerto de hueso, el tratamiento de medicinas, la rehabilitación postoperatoria, las cámaras hiperbáricas que amerito para cicatrizar, las inyecciones directas de plaquetas en las articulaciones para recuperarme (ya que mis huesos, músculos, tendones y ligamentos no son los mismos por el desgaste óseo de la artritis, y otras originadas por la alteración del sistema inmunológico), en razón de lograr que mi rodilla acepte los cuerpos extraños que tendré de por vida.
Si bien no me he rendido desde que nací, aquí sigo buscando mejoría y calidad de vida entre mis restricciones, no deseo que esta caída me mantenga en silla de ruedas, seguiré en mi país amado, Venezuela, y con el deseo de continuar trabajando día a día motivada por el cambio y en lograr sumar desde mi espacio de acción.

Although I always avoid telling my story, I consider it necessary to make it public. It all started with a pathology since I was 15 years old: I was diagnosed with Lupus due to the intense muscular pain that affected my mobility, high rheumatic fevers, positive values in my blood tests, and the transformation of color in my hands due to blood circulation. It was called "Raynaud's Syndrome". But that did not stop me from following my life and my dreams of graduating as a Lawyer at the UCV, despite the difficult times that rheumatic crises caused me, because perhaps it was what affected me the most for that time of my 18 years, the same which eventually passed to another diagnosis: CREST disease. To this I add the emotional impact of the loss of my father by a sudden stroke. So my life continues with more effort to work and continue studying. I started working at SENIAT, dedicating 14 years of my life to this government agency, continuing my academic training to improve income and thus be the support of my home, (my mother needed support after taking care of my father and my brother was underage) ... keeping my health stable was another priority.
From those years I remember that the doctors recommended me to rest at home, but I did not like to take rest and even worked with my intravenous treatments, since I was pleased to fulfill my assignments; For me, happiness is feeling useful despite my pathology.
I learned to live with my good days and others not so much, avoiding decay and taking a medical, spiritual - emotional control that would allow me to be active and productive.
I went through other ups and downs in recent years, my weakened immune system, chemotherapies for a supposed cancer, vitiligo onset, a loss of baby at 7 months of gestation, now suffering from thyroid and glycemia (which affects my healing) ); but what I always took care of myself and the doctors warned me, happened to me on April 15, 2020. Dedicated as always, now to Art and culture, a passion that motivates me to fulfill multiple functions in an inexhaustible way in the Venezuelan Association of Plastic Artists (AVAP), I slipped due to poor lighting and the damp floor of the place and fell down the stairs. I now have a fracture due to a subsidence of the tibial plateau of my left knee, which requires an URGENT operation to return to walking, return to my routine legal activities, such as going down and up court stairs, records, continue planning cultural, legal representation of AVAP, promoting Venezuelan talent.
Therefore I request the help and generosity of all of you, since unfortunately the medical insurance I have does not cover surgery, plaque, screws, bone grafting, medicine treatment, postoperative rehabilitation, hyperbaric chambers that I deserve to heal. , direct injections of platelets into the joints to recover (since my bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments are not the same due to bone wear from arthritis, and others caused by the alteration of the immune system), in order to achieve that my knee accepts the foreign bodies that I will have for life.
Although I have not given up since I was born, here I am still looking for improvement and quality of life among my restrictions, I do not want this fall to keep me in a wheelchair, I will continue in my beloved country, Venezuela, and with the desire to continue working day day motivated by change and to achieve adding from my space of action.
