On Sunday, February 22, what started as a normal day at Costco turned into a terrifying emergency. In the parking lot, 27 vehicles including mine suddenly caught fire. The flames were spreading fast, and chaos quickly followed.

In the middle of the confusion and fear, seeing how dangerous the situation was, I felt a responsibility to help. I stepped forward and said, “We need to put out the fire.”

My co-workers and I had received basic emergency training at Costco, and I knew we had protective gear available for situations like this. Without hesitation, I put on the emergency fire gear and went outside to begin fighting the flames.

Several Costco employees joined the effort, and together we worked through intense and frightening moments until the fire was finally brought under control.

Unfortunately, my car was completely destroyed.

I did not have insurance, and that vehicle was the only transportation my family and I relied on for work, taking our children where they need to go, and managing everyday life. Losing it has placed us in an extremely difficult position.

I am not asking for luxury only for the chance to regain stability for my family.

My goal is to raise enough to cover the down payment on another vehicle so we can rebuild and move forward.
