Hola, soy Juan Carlos, resido en Maracaibo, Venezuela. Padezco de Leishmaniasis cutánea diseminada desde el año 2020. Debido a esta enfermedad estuve 3 años siendo incapaz de levantarme de la cama por la gran cantidad de lesiones en todo mi cuerpo. En mí país Venezuela no se consigue el tratamiento, el año pasado pude acceder al medicamento enviándolo desde otro país gracias al apoyo de mi hermano. Recibiendo una dosis diaria desde mayo del 2023, logré mejorar hasta este punto, pero la enfermedad muestra resistencia.

Necesito ayuda para seguir costeando el medicamento, el cual se me debe ser suministrado por años. Si detengo el tratamiento crecen nuevas lesiones y se agrandan las existentes rápidamente. También tengo estás úlceras en la mucosa dentro de mi nariz dificultándome la respiración. La condición de mis manos y mis pies no me permite trabajar, algunos de mis dedos están retorcidos, posteriormente necesitaré intervención quirúrgica y fisioterapia para recobrar lo más posible la movilidad de mis manos. La mayor parte de estos años no he sido capaz de salir de casa, las úlceras duelen y sangran al contacto.

Además debo comprar frecuentemente medicamentos antifúngicos, antibióticos, gasas y jabones germicidas para evitar que se infecten, y otros más destinadas a disminuir los efectos secundarios del medicamento, este es altamente tóxico.

Tambié ir a controles medicos y hacer exámenes de sangre.

Les agradecería de todo corazón su apoyo, mi mayor deseo es sanar y volver a ser una persona capaz de valerse por sí misma.

Hello, I am Juan Carlos, I live in Maracaibo, Venezuela. I suffer from disseminated cutaneous leishmaniasis since 2020. Due to this disease for 3 years i have been unable to get out of bed because of the large number of lesions all over my body. In my country Venezuela the treatment is not available, last year I was able to access the medicine by receiving it from another country thanks to the support of my brother. Receiving a daily dose since May 2023, I managed to improve up to this point, but the disease has been hard to treat.

I need help to continue paying for the medicine, which I have to get for years. If I stop treatment new lesions will grow and existing ones will enlarge rapidly. I also have ulcers on the mucosa inside my nose making it difficult for me to breathe. The condition of my hands and feet does not allow me to work, some of my fingers are twisted, later I will need surgery and physical therapy to regain as much mobility as possible in my hands. Most of these years I have not been able to leave the house, the ulcers hurt and bleed on contact.

I must also frequently buy antifungal medications, antibiotics, gauze and germicidal soaps to prevent them from getting infected, and others to lessen the side effects of the medication, which is highly toxic.

I also need to get medical check-ups and blood tests.
