Hola , soy Alejandra (pero me dicen Ale),

Tengo 25 años y me diagnosticaron cancer de tiroides, metastásico en ganglios, nervios, cuerdas vocales, en el mediastino, timo, detrás del corazón...

Segun los doctores, “en todos lados”...

Hasta la fecha llevo al rededor de 7 meses en este proceso desde que se hizo el primer diagnostico,  que han resultado en 2 cirugías: la primera en Mayo del 2021 y la mas reciente el 22 de Julio del 2021.

Esta ultima fue bastante seria he invasiva y consistió de 8 horas en quirófano, aproximadamente 100 tumores extraídos y al final 7 días de hospitalización de los cuales 4 fueron en UCI. Gracias a dios ya estoy en casa y voy paso a paso recuperándome. Desde entonces, han sido un millón de exámenes, montón de pastillas (cada 4 horas), y sinceramente pensaba que ahora todo seria cuesta abajo... lo peor atras …

Desgraciadamente, en la patología (el estudio que se le hizo a todos los tumores extraídos) encontraron rastros de.... OTRO TIPO DE CANCER del cual no saben donde está el epicentro, y ahora es como volver a empezar de zero!

Tengo que hacerme de nuevo exámenes , esta vez más fuertes, más cosas.... Hasta el momento he comenzado con yodo terapia, fisioterapia y fisio terapia (durante la operación, al estar en los nervios y al limpiarlos el brazo izquierdo fue afectado y ahora no me funciona muy bien). Muy probablemente tendré que hacer quimioterapia, mas tratamientos, y otra cirugía..

Jean Pierre y yo hemos estado aguantando económicamente hasta el último minuto y aunque no nos hace falta nada, hemos empezados a sentir el peso económico de todo esto.. Desde el inicio del año no he podido trabajar y ayudar a cubrir los gastos de todo este proceso y para mi y mi familia cada día se ha vuelto más difícil.. Por eso creo firmemente que en tiempos difíciles está bien pedir ayuda, por lo cual he montado esta pagina GoFundMe para pedirles de todo corazón cualquier granito de arena el cual será utilizado para ayudarme económicamente a enfrentar todo esto.

Hi! My name is Alejandra (but my friends call me Ale),

I'm 25 years old and just recently was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer with metastasis on the lymph nodes, nerves, vocal cords, in the mediastinum, thymus and finally behind the heart...

Basically the word doctors used was, "everywhere"....

So far, it's been about 7 months of this whole process since the initial diagnosis which has consisted of 2 surgeries. The first one last May and the last one on July 22nd of 2021.

This last one, was quite large and invasive and consisted of 8 hours in the operating room, approximately 100 tumors removed and 7 days in recovery 4 of which were in the ICU. Thankfully I am now back home recovering one small step at a time. Since then, it's been, a million tests, even more pills (that I have to take every 4 hours) y honestly at this point I was thinking it would all be downhill... The worst behind me....

Or so I thought.

Unfortunately, that is not the case.. During the pathology report (that's where they examine cells and tissues from the extracted tumors), they found traces of ANOTHER TYPE OF CANCER for which the doctors can't quite pinpoint its epicenter... as a result, it is back to square one

Once again, I have to take more tests, probably much more difficult and strenuous... So far, I've already started my Radioactive Iodine therapy as well as physical therapy (during the operation, while working on my cleaning my nerves, my left arm got affected and as a result no longer works well). In all likelihood I'll need to do chemotherapy, other sorts of treatments, and another surgery..

My husband Jean Pierre and I have been holding on financially up until the last minute and despite do not needing anything up til now, we have started the feel the economic weight of all this. Since the beginning of the year I have been unable to work and help cover the expenses of this process and it has become for me and my family as the days go by. I firmly believe that in difficult times it is okay to ask for help, which is why I have created this GoFundMe page in order to ask from the bottom of my heart for any assistance whose purpose would be to assist me in overcoming this financial hurdle.
