Hoy él me necesita a mí.
Y Dios me escuchó.
Marty changed my life when I needed it most. Now he needs me. Please help me give him back his sight and the happiness he deserves.
Hello, my name is Antuanet, I’m 21 years old and originally from Venezuela. I moved to the United States seven years ago, and like many immigrants, the transition wasn’t easy. I began struggling with anxiety and depression, and almost three years ago, I decided to look for a dog to be my emotional support through that difficult time.
That’s how I met Marty, my now four-legged son. I saw him online, and it was love at first sight. From the very beginning, I knew we were meant to find each other. Marty became my companion, my comfort, and my strength.
Life hasn’t always been easy, but we’ve always had each other. He even stayed by my side through a serious illness when I almost lost my life. Doctors said my condition was critical, but I remember praying to God to let me recover so I could keep my promise of giving Marty the best life possible. And God listened. Since then, we’ve shared so much love and support every single day.
Marty is almost 3 years old — still a baby, full of energy and love for life. A couple of months ago, I noticed a gray spot in one of his eyes and immediately took him to the vet. The diagnosis was cataracts. Sadly, the same condition soon appeared in his other eye, and now Marty is completely blind.
It’s been heartbreaking for me and everyone who knows him to see him like this. We’re both learning to adjust, but it’s hard — he bumps into walls and furniture, and sometimes hides because he’s scared. Even though he’s still the most loving dog I’ve ever known, he’s not the same anymore. You have to approach him slowly and let him smell you first so he knows he’s safe.
Marty depends on me now, just like I once depended on him. So it’s my turn to give him back all the love he’s given me. With all my heart, I’m asking for your help to afford his cataract surgery, which is very expensive, but would give him the chance to see again — to live happily and spread the love that makes him so special.
Thank you for reading our story and for any help, no matter how small. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me bring light back into Marty’s world.
Marty and I believe in miracles — and with your help and God’s grace, I know he’ll soon see the world he loves again.
