Hello, my name is Luis Valentan, and I am an organizer committed to the well-being of our migrant community.

For years, I have worked hand in hand with day laborers, immigrant families, and workers who build, clean, and sustain our cities—people who are often invisible and face tremendous hardships. My goal is to provide support, resources, and solidarity to those who need it most, especially in times of crisis.

It is also important to mention that, on this occasion, I am making this effort as an individual. This has nothing to do with my role in the organization I work for. This is purely a matter of solidarity with my fellow countrymen who need my help. I recently met this family through out a reference from an other family I helped in the past.

Why I Am Helping This Family

Imagine arriving in a country where you don’t know anyone, carrying two babies in your arms, without a home, and constantly living in fear of being separated due to inhumane immigration policies. This is the reality of a Mexican family that, after being deported from Canada, has been left completely unprotected in the United States.

The family consists of two young parents and their little ones: a two-year-old child and a baby just eight months old. Without resources, without a support network, and facing a system that criminalizes migrants, their only apparent option is self-deportation. But what future awaits them if they return with nothing?

Their situation is even more challenging because they are traveling on a tourist visa, which prevents them from securing stable employment. Despite this, the father did everything possible to support his family and found work as a day laborer—only to have his employer steal an entire week’s wages, leaving them in an even more desperate situation.

Seeking help, they turned to the Mexican Consulate in Salt Lake City, Utah, hoping to receive support and guidance. Instead, they were ignored and treated with indifference—met with delays and excuses rather than real solutions. It is unacceptable for the Mexican government to allow its consulates to turn their backs on families in their most vulnerable moments. The Mexican authorities must take responsibility and treat those seeking support abroad with dignity.

In the meantime, this family cannot wait. They need our solidarity now.

Durante años, he trabajado mano a mano con jornaleros, familias inmigrantes y trabajadores que construyen, limpian y sostienen nuestras ciudades, pero que muchas veces son invisibilizados y enfrentan grandes dificultades. Mi objetivo es brindar apoyo, recursos y solidaridad a quienes más lo necesitan, especialmente en momentos de crisis.

Tambien es importante mencionar que en esta occasion estoy haciendo este esfuerzo como persona individual, no tiene nada que ver con mi rol en la organizacion en la que trabajo. es mas que nada una cuestión solidaria con mis compatriotas que necesitan de mi ayuda.

Por Qué Estoy Ayudando a Esta Familia Mexicana

Imagina llegar a un país donde no conoces a nadie, con dos bebés en brazos, sin un hogar y con el miedo constante de ser separados por las políticas inhumanas de inmigración. Esta es la realidad de una familia mexicana que, después de ser deportada de Canadá, ha quedado completamente desamparada en Estados Unidos.

La familia está compuesta por dos padres jóvenes y sus pequeños: un niño de dos años y un bebé de apenas ocho meses de nacido. Sin recursos, sin una red de apoyo y enfrentando una administración que criminaliza a los migrantes, su única opción parece ser la autodeportación. Pero ¿qué futuro les espera si regresan sin nada?

Su situación es aún más difícil porque están viajando con una visa de turistas, lo que les impide conseguir un empleo estable. A pesar de ello, el padre hizo todo lo posible por sostener a su familia y consiguió trabajo como jornalero, pero su empleador le robó el salario de una semana entera, dejándolos en una situación aún más desesperada.

Buscando ayuda, acudieron al Consulado de México en Salt Lake City, Utah, con la esperanza de recibir apoyo y orientación. En lugar de ello, fueron ignorados y tratados con indiferencia, recibiendo largas y excusas en lugar de respuestas concretas. Es inaceptable que el gobierno mexicano permita que sus consulados den la espalda a las familias en sus momentos más vulnerables. Es urgente que las autoridades mexicanas tomen responsabilidad y atiendan con dignidad a quienes buscan apoyo en el exterior.

Mientras tanto, esta familia no puede esperar. Necesitan nuestra solidaridad ahora.

✅ Transporte y asistencia legal para explorar sus opciones migratorias
