Transplante de hígado para Edgar del Valle

Mi nombre es Edgar del Valle y a mis 56 años he recorrido la vida con la bendición de ser padre, abuelo de tres maravillosos nietos y contar con la compañía incondicional de Lilo, una perrita que es mi nieta peluda. Hoy, sin embargo, me enfrento a un reto que pone en juego mi existencia: la cirrosis hepática causada por un hígado graso, que me obliga a necesitar un trasplante de hígado para seguir adelante.

La espera por un trasplante ha comenzado a afectar otros órganos de mi cuerpo. Actualmente, estoy sufriendo complicaciones en mis riñones debido a la insuficiencia hepática. Retengo líquido y, cada dos semanas, debo acudir al hospital para que me lo extraigan. Este procedimiento, aunque necesario, conlleva riesgos y se vuelve más peligroso cuanto más frecuente se vuelve.

Me encuentro en las listas de trasplantes del Hospital Auxilio Mutuo y del Hospital Metodista en Dallas, pero aún no tengo un donante vivo y los costos de mi tratamiento y las medicinas que tanto necesito superan lo que mi seguro puede cubrir.

My name is Edgar del Valle, and at 56 years old, I have walked through life blessed to be a father, a grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren, and to have the unconditional companionship of Lilo, a little dog who is my furry granddaughter. Today, however, I am facing a challenge that threatens my very existence: liver cirrhosis caused by fatty liver disease, which makes a liver transplant essential for me to continue living.

The wait for a transplant has begun to affect other organs in my body. I am currently experiencing kidney complications due to liver failure. I retain fluid, and every two weeks, I must go to the hospital to have it drained. While this procedure is necessary, it carries risks and becomes increasingly dangerous the more frequently it is performed.

I am on the transplant waiting lists at both Auxilio Mutuo Hospital and Methodist Hospital in Dallas, but I do not yet have a living donor, and the costs of my treatment and the essential medications I need far exceed what my insurance can cover.
